Principal Technical Program Manager
Workato
Role Description We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to join our AI Apps BU in the Product Engineering division. It is an engineering governance and oversight function that sits above delivery execution, focused on ensuring architectural integrity, scope alignment, and continuous feedback loops across our largest enterprise programs and early access product releases. The Program Manager will oversee two parallel program tracks: - Top 10 accounts — ensuring engineering-level oversight across large, complex implementation engagements with multiple parallel workstreams. - Early Access Product Releases — governing the rollout of new product capabilities to early access customers, ensuring adoption milestones are met and structured feedback is routed back to product engineering. Program Strategy & Governance - Own the program charter, OKRs, roadmap, and success metrics for all Workato Agentic AI Apps BU initiatives for TECS department delivery and product tracks. - Establish governance frameworks — RAID logs, steering cadences, escalation paths, and program decision rights — aligned to Workato's delivery standards. - Maintain a consolidated program view across concurrent workstreams: Packaged Genies cycles and customer deployments. - Lead weekly/monthly/quarterly business reviews and executive reporting for Workato leadership for strategic enterprise clients. - Drive cross-team dependency management and risk mitigation across TECS and Product & Engineering. - Coordinate and facilitate design review checkpoints with the Architecture Board, ensuring solutions meet Workato's standards before build begins. - Surface cross-account patterns, blockers, and friction points, feeding structured learnings back to engineering leads and architecture groups to improve platform patterns and packaged applications. - Produce executive-level dashboards, program status reports, and decision briefs using Workato's delivery metrics framework. - Maintain program dashboards that track status, risks, and key decisions across the enterprise portfolio. Cross-Functional Planning with TECS - Facilitate Program planning, sprint reviews, dependency syncs, and retrospectives across FDE delivery pods. - Maintain alignment between Workato's product release calendar and FDE delivery timelines to leverage new AI platform capabilities immediately. - Coordinate, maintain and track a priority list of customer issues and enhancement requests and timelines with the platform team. Delivery Excellence & Continuous Improvement - Define and enforce Workato delivery standards — Definition of Ready/Done, quality gates, and release governance for AI-powered automation. - Implement program-level metrics (velocity, cycle time, integration success rate, agent accuracy, CSAT) and drive improvement actions. - Lead post-program retrospectives; codify learnings into Workato FDE playbooks, recipe templates, and delivery runbooks. Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or a closely related discipline. - Proven track record managing complex, multi-workstream programs in a product engineering or enterprise software environment. - Experience working across large enterprise accounts with multiple parallel delivery teams. - Background in iPaaS, integration platforms, or enterprise automation strongly preferred. - Experience identifying opportunities to leverage existing products/capabilities within delivery programs, and ensuring fitment evaluation checkpoints are built into the delivery lifecycle — feeding gaps and improvement opportunities back to the engineering team building packaged offerings. Requirements - Understands the importance of architecture and engineering governance checkpoints and can ensure they are scheduled, attended, and actioned — without needing deep technical expertise. - Familiarity with architecture review processes, design governance, and technical milestone frameworks. - Experience with both packaged software delivery and custom implementation contexts — able to evaluate fitment vs. customization tradeoffs. - Comfort working across Agile and structured delivery methodologies. - Demonstrated ability to manage director and VP-level relationships — both internally and with enterprise customers. - Strong ability to set expectations clearly, communicate program status accurately, and escalate risks effectively. - Skilled at facilitating alignment across engineering, product, and customer technical stakeholders. - Experience synthesizing customer and delivery feedback into structured, actionable input for product and engineering teams. Benefits - Flexible, trust-oriented culture that empowers everyone to take full ownership of their roles. - Vibrant and dynamic work environment. - Multitude of benefits employees can enjoy inside and outside of their work lives. Company Description Workato delivers enterprise infrastructure for the agentic era, redefining iPaaS and helping enterprises unify data, applications, processes, and AI into a single, governed platform. A leader in Enterprise MCP and trusted by 50% of the Fortune 500, Workato’s cloud-native architecture connects every application, data source, and process to power real-time orchestration at scale. With enterprise-grade security and continuous innovation at its core, Workato provides the trusted foundation for organizations to automate with confidence and operationalize AI across the business.
