Role Description The Principal Content Strategist & Editor-in-Chief will be a member of the Identity, Amplification, and Communications team. The ideal candidate is a senior hands-on individual contributor who sets editorial direction and delivers an AI-enabled, multi-channel content strategy across digital, multimedia, and editorial formats. You ensure our content is clear, consistent, and authoritative for both human audiences and LLMs, and you establish a durable red thread (shared narrative + common language) across every channel. As part of this role, you will own the content creation agency relationship, scope, and budget to scale capacity and quality. What You’ll Do - Editorial direction & content strategy: - Own the content strategy across the customer journey (awareness thru adoption) and key channels (web, social, email, events, campaigns). - Set editorial standards (voice, accuracy, governance) and keep quality high across all assets. - Establish and maintain the red thread, so teams use consistent language, claims, and proof points—tailored by audience, not reinvented. - AI-first creation & scaling: - Create and edit high-impact content for senior business and technical audiences (POVs, articles, briefs, case studies, scripts, web experiences). - Use AI/LLM workflows to accelerate research, ideation, drafting, repurposing, and localization—with human judgment and accountability. - Build “AI-ready” foundations (canonical source pages, structured FAQs, proof libraries) that keep derivatives consistent. - Cross-functional orchestration & agency ownership: - Partner across Product Marketing, Demand Gen, Comms, Brand, Product, and SMEs to source insights and ship integrated programs. - Own the content creation agency relationship end-to-end: briefs, scope of work, timelines, reviews, and quality. - Own agency budget: forecast spend, track burn vs deliverables/credits, and coordinate contracting/renewals with Procurement/Legal/Finance. - Performance optimization & LLM influence: - Track and improve content performance (engagement, SEO, conversion influence, answer-engine performance) and iterate based on evidence. - Design content for dual consumption (humans + LLMs) with clear structure, grounded claims, and stable semantics. Qualifications - 8–10+ years in content strategy/editorial leadership in B2B tech. - 12+ years of content strategy, content management, and/or content development. - University degree completed in a related field, preferred but experience will be taken into consideration. A completed master's degree will impact years of experience. - Expert writing/editing with strong editorial judgment and the ability to simplify complex topics. - Demonstrated AI/LLM fluency in content workflows (prompting, evaluation, governance, quality control). - Proven ability to lead cross-functionally and make decisions without direct authority. - Experience owning agency/vendor scope and budget (SOWs, spend tracking, delivery/quality management). - Data-driven mindset with comfort using analytics to improve outcomes. Preferred - Experience building scalable content systems (messaging architectures, modular frameworks, editorial playbooks). - Prior experience working at a marketing and/or content creation agency is a plus. - Experience optimizing for modern discovery (SEO + answer engines) using structured patterns (FAQs, comparisons, decision guides). - Comfort operating as an editorial “final say” in a matrixed environment. - Demonstrated success creating and enforcing a common language / red-thread narrative across contributors. Role Impact You will raise content quality and velocity through responsible AI use, strengthen consistency through a clear red thread, and improve how the company shows up across channels and LLM-mediated discovery—while scaling execution via strong agency management.
