Senior IT Engineer, Field Systems

• Lead the design, implementation, and administration of enterprise applications supporting field operations. • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, field service teams, development teams, and technical groups to gather requirements, architect scalable solutions, and drive major system enhancement projects from conception to successful deployment. • Act as the primary technical driver for cross-platform integration initiatives, ensuring seamless data flow, API connectivity, and communication between disparate field service and network management tools. • Provide senior-level support and technical mentorship, managing system upgrades, vendor relationships, and complex troubleshooting while actively documenting system architectures, creating FAQs, and developing materials for knowledge sharing.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of hands-on experience in IT systems engineering, with a strong focus on enterprise application management, integrations, and architecture.
  • 3 years of experience leading and driving complex IT projects from end-to-end within the telecommunications or field service sectors.
  • Experience configuring, administering, and integrating specific operational platforms such as geospatial tools (e.g., IQGeo), network testing/monitoring (e.g., VeEX), telematics (e.g., Geotab), or WFM systems.

Experience using productivity and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar), for scheduling, reporting, and communication-related tasks. Demonstrated experience providing high-quality customer service in a fast-paced, public-facing setting (e.g., academic support services, libraries, hospitality, or similar), including effectively resolving user concerns and maintaining a welcoming environment. Supervisory experience, including training, scheduling, or overseeing staff or student employees. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in an academic or public library environment, with an understanding of access services operations. Experience using an integrated library system (ILS) or library services platform (LSP) (e.g., Sierra, Alma), including basic circulation, reporting, or user account functions.
