Role Description We are hiring a Chief Financial Officer to own the full finance function and lead the company’s capital markets strategy. This is a dual-mandate role: run the financial operations of a PE-backed company while building and executing a capital markets infrastructure to monetize the company’s mass tort receivable pipeline. The operational finance function is being built—this person will establish processes, hire a team, and create the reporting infrastructure expected of a PE-backed platform. The capital markets mandate is a progressive build: executing founder-structured deals initially, then building the institutional financing capability independently over 12–24 months. This role reports directly to the Founder/CEO. Responsibilities - Operational Finance - Own the company’s P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and treasury management. - Establish and manage the monthly/quarterly financial close process. - Lead budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A in coordination with executive leadership. - Manage relationships with external accounting firms, tax advisors, and auditors. - Own lender compliance and reporting (existing and future facilities). - Deliver board-ready financial packages to the Founder and PE sponsor. - Hire and manage a Controller and build out the finance team. - Capital Markets & Strategic Finance - Execute capital markets transactions to monetize the company’s mass tort receivable pipeline, including factoring, credit facilities, and structured financing. - Lead the company’s transition from cash to accrual accounting (ASC 606). - Build lender-grade portfolio reporting and data infrastructure in coordination with operations and technology. - Develop and maintain the borrowing base methodology and underwriting framework for the receivable portfolio. - Engage and manage relationships with institutional lenders, specialty finance counterparties, and structured finance counsel. - Present proposed transactions to the Investment Committee for approval. - Own the financial narrative for investors: audited financials, capital markets documentation, and portfolio analytics. Qualifications - 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including CFO or VP of Finance roles. - Experience as a finance leader at a PE-backed company, with understanding of board reporting, investor reporting, and sponsor expectations. - Deep operational finance capabilities: monthly close, FP&A, budgeting, cash management, and audit coordination. - Demonstrated experience leading or managing accrual accounting conversions from cash basis, including ASC 606 revenue recognition policy development, historical financial restatement, and coordination with outside audit firms. - Exposure to structured finance, receivable monetization, asset-backed lending, or capital markets transactions. - Ability to build and lead a finance team, including hiring a Controller and potentially a capital markets analyst. - Strong communication skills for board presentations, lender negotiations, and cross-functional coordination. - Legal industry or specialty finance experience is a plus but not required. Benefits - Competitive base salary range: $253K–$379K per year. - Total compensation reflects the C-level scope and strategic importance of the role. - Private Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision). - Company HSA contributions for HDHP participants. - Flexible Spending Accounts (Health & Dependent Care). - Company-Paid Short-Term Disability Coverage. - Voluntary Long-Term Disability, Life, AD&D, and Supplemental Coverage Options. - 401(k) Plan with Company Match. - Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick Time & Select Holidays). - Paid Parental Leave. Company Description Zipliens is a fast-growing, PE-backed leader in lien resolution and mass tort services, partnering with law firms nationwide. The company manages a significant portfolio of mass tort receivables and is transforming from a tech-enabled service provider into a tech-first comprehensive legal services platform.
