Job Description

Senior UI/UX Developer, AI-focused

Ruby Labs

• AI-accelerated design & implementation — Design and build exceptional interfaces using Figma, AI design tools (v0.dev, same.new, Hero UI Chat, Bolt, Lovable), and AI code assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot). Start from high-level references and autonomously deliver polished results. • Production-ready frontend development — Develop and ship code using Next.js 14+, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS with meticulous attention to detail. You own quality end-to-end — there is no QA layer between you and production. • Scalable component architecture — Build and maintain structured design systems (HeroUI, shadcn/ui) ensuring consistency, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility. Use AI to scaffold components rapidly, then refine manually where AI output falls short. • Prompt engineering for design & code — Write effective prompts for design and code generation tools. Know when AI output is production-ready and when it requires manual intervention. Continuously refine prompt strategies to improve output quality and speed. • Autonomous interface delivery — Translate strategic requirements into intuitive user interfaces. Collaborate efficiently with product teams while maintaining design autonomy and making sound UX decisions independently. • AI workflow optimization — Continuously evaluate and integrate emerging AI tools into your workflow. Establish repeatable AI-assisted patterns that the team can adopt to increase overall velocity.

Job Requirements

  • Designer-to-developer background — Started as a UI/UX designer with advanced Figma expertise before transitioning to frontend development. Strong visual taste and layout instincts are crucial.
  • AI-native workflow — Demonstrated experience using AI design and code generation tools daily (v0, Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Bolt, or similar). You don't just "know about" these tools — they are integral to how you work.
  • Frontend proficiency — 3+ years of hands-on experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. You can read, debug, and refactor AI-generated code confidently.
  • Critical AI output evaluation — Ability to quickly assess AI-generated designs and code for quality, accessibility, and production-readiness. You know where AI hallucinations and pattern failures typically occur and catch them before they ship.
  • Autonomous execution — Proven ability to create complete interfaces from high-level references with exceptional attention to detail, working without constant guidance or QA oversight.
  • Fluency in Russian and/or Ukrainian language.

Benefits

  • Remote Work Environment: Embrace the freedom to work from anywhere, anytime, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
  • Unlimited PTO: Enjoy unlimited paid time off to recharge and prioritize your well-being, without counting days.
  • Paid National Holidays: Celebrate and relax on national holidays with paid time off to unwind and recharge.
  • Company-provided MacBook: Experience seamless productivity with top-notch Apple MacBooks provided to all employees who need them.
  • Flexible Independent Contractor Agreement: Unlock the benefits of flexibility, autonomy, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Benefit from tax advantages, networking opportunities, reduced employment obligations, and the freedom to work from anywhere.
