• faithfully and impartially exercise duties and functions under the Constitution and Otipemisiwak Métis Government Law • decide and prescribe the resolution of disputes regarding citizenship in the Métis Nation within Alberta, election of leadership, Constitution interpretation, Otipemisiwak Métis Government Law, regulations or policies, actions or decisions of the government, and contraventions of the Constitution
Job Requirements
- Be a Citizen of the Métis Nation within Alberta
- Be a minimum of 25 years old at the time of their appointment
- Not have been convicted of an indictable offence under the Criminal Code for which they have not received a pardon or record suspension that has not been revoked or ceased to have effect
- Demonstrate fair-mindedness and wisdom in decision-making
- Be ordinarily a resident in the North Saskatchewan River Territory
- Not hold an elected position within the Otipemisiwak Métis Government
