Position: Art Theory Expert Type: Contract Compensation: $67–$75/hour Location: Remote Commitment: 20 hours/week Role Responsibilities - Author technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance in art history and art theory. - Review and annotate problem sets grounded in artworks, compositional analyses, and historical imagery. - Write reference solutions and apply structured quality checks to ensure accuracy. - Collaborate with AI research teams to improve task quality and throughput. - Work independently and asynchronously with a flexible schedule to meet deadlines. Qualifications - Must-Have: PhD in Art History or Art Theory, or MA in Art History with 3+ years teaching, curatorial, or research experience, or BA in Art History with 5+ years teaching, tutoring, or applied curatorial experience. - Working fluency in at least two of: art history periods, critical theory, visual analysis, curatorial practice, conservation. - Comfortable reading and interpreting artworks, compositional analyses, and historical imagery. - Clear technical writing; able to articulate reasoning step-by-step in written form.
