Staff Software Engineer – Cloud

Escale

• Lead technical initiatives related to cloud architecture, ensuring scalability, resilience and operational efficiency • Serve as a technical reference in infrastructure and distributed systems, influencing engineering decisions within the team • Design and evolve architectures on AWS, ensuring high availability, security and cost optimization • Define and implement observability practices (monitoring, logging, tracing), ensuring system visibility and reliability • Work on building and evolving CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation • Identify risks and bottlenecks in distributed systems, acting proactively to ensure stability • Collaborate with development teams to define scalable and resilient solutions • Lead important technical initiatives, taking responsibility for defining and implementing solutions • Contribute to the team's growth through mentoring, code reviews and sharing best practices.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a Software Engineer working in medium- to high-complexity environments
  • Experience with the architecture and operation of distributed systems in cloud environments
  • Hands-on experience with AWS (Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS, S3 or similar)
  • Experience with DevOps/SRE practices (CI/CD, observability, infrastructure automation)
  • Experience with monitoring, logging and troubleshooting production systems
  • Experience with integrations and process automation
  • Ability to act as a technical reference within the team, influencing decisions and guiding solutions
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with high availability and disaster recovery strategies
  • Experience with cost optimization in cloud environments
  • Experience with event-driven architectures
  • Experience with GenAI applied to infrastructure or automation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with both technical and business stakeholders.
