Luzerne County Children and Youth Services is looking for people like you! Luzerne County has an immediate need for an Intake County Casework Supervisor in its Children, Youth, and Families agency. Located in Northeastern Pennsylvania, Luzerne County Government offers many exciting and challenging opportunities to learn and grow in a career while making a difference in the lives of Luzerne County families.This supervisor position is the front line of our agency, responsible for the overall operational planning, direction, supervision and coordination of intake services. Our team will rely on you to oversee the team responsible for processing all referrals through our Screening Unit and ensure that each is served in compliance with timeliness and regulatory requirements. You will be expected to develop and maintain a working knowledge of all regulatory, policy, and procedure mandates; maintain statistics as outlined in our policies; and monitor the effectiveness of services provided through statistics and log keeping. Teamwork and collaboration are essential as you will also inform the Social Service Coordinator of service delivery issues or needs. You will also complete frequent and regular review and analysis of case records, evaluate staff performance, and participate in planning and providing in-service training activities to meet the training needs of the workers to disseminate new or updated regulations and policies. Other duties as assigned. - Knowledge of the basic principles of supervision. - Knowledge of current case management and social work principles, practices, and methodology. - Knowledge of individual and group behavior and methods used in working effectively with children, youth and families, people who are mentally disabled, people who are physically challenged, and others. - Knowledge of the basic principles and methods of program interpretation and community organization. - Knowledge of the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures which relate to the provision of social services. - Knowledge of current social, economic, and health problems and available resources. - Ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of a professional and non-professional social service staff. - Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate case records and recommend sound courses of action. - Ability to orient and train subordinates on rules, regulations, policies and procedures and provide technical assistance. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, families, agency staff, community service agencies and facilities, and the general public. - Ability to make clear and pertinent statements orally and in writing. The METs for this position are: - Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; OR - Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences. 2.)
