Position Overview We are seeking an exceptional VP, Creative Director, Art (VP, CD, Art) with a passion for building brands, shaping visual narratives, and driving new business growth. This role is dedicated to leading the creative vision for pitches, new business opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives across the agency. The ideal candidate will blend healthcare expertise with bold creativity and dynamic leadership, bringing a pitch-first mindset to craft compelling visual stories that win business and strengthen BGB’s market position. You will guide cross-functional teams through the pitch process, elevate creative thinking, and ensure our new business efforts consistently reflect the highest level of craft, innovation, and strategic insight. Specific Responsibilities Creative Leadership for New Business - Lead the creative development of high-impact, visually compelling pitch work that differentiates BGB and drives agency growth. - Translate complex healthcare challenges into bold visual narratives that communicate a clear, inspiring, strategic story. Pitch Strategy & Narrative Development - Partner with Strategy, Copy, and Account leadership to craft pitch stories that align with market dynamics, brand needs, and client objectives. - Shape the visual language and creative arc for all new business opportunities, ensuring cohesiveness, clarity, and persuasion. Client Engagement & Presentation Excellence - Act as a lead presenter and creative ambassador during pitches and new business meetings. - Guide prospective clients through creative thinking and strategic rationale with confidence, clarity, and storytelling finesse. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with multidisciplinary teams—including creative, account, strategy, design, and project management—to ensure pitch work is integrated, polished, and delivered seamlessly. - Work closely with leadership to assess and refine our creative approach to new business efforts across the agency. Talent Leadership & Team Development - Mentor and inspire the creative team members who support pitch and growth work, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - Identify opportunities to elevate craft, processes, and capabilities that support new business success. Innovation & Industry Forward Thinking - Bring fresh thinking, emerging design trends, and new technologies into pitch work to ensure BGB’s creative product remains modern, competitive, and memorable. - Push boundaries to introduce new visual approaches, storytelling formats, and presentation styles. Creative Quality & Brand Integrity - Oversee all art direction for new business efforts to ensure consistency, craft integrity, and alignment with BGB’s standards of creative excellence. Growth Partnership - Act as a senior creative partner to Business Development leadership, contributing to pipeline planning, capability development, and ongoing growth strategy. - Support expansion of existing client relationships through proactive creative thinking and strategic guidance. Preferred Qualifications Experience - 10+ years of healthcare advertising experience, with at least 5 years in a senior creative leadership role. - Previous experience leading creative for new business pitches or business development initiatives strongly preferred. Portfolio - A robust portfolio demonstrating high-level conceptual thinking, breakthrough visual storytelling, and pitch-ready creative across healthcare brands. Creative Craft & Expertise - Deep knowledge of design principles, storytelling frameworks, and trends across digital, experiential, and integrated media. - Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite and contemporary design tools. Leadership Excellence - Proven track record of leading, inspiring, and developing creative teams in fast-paced, high-stakes environments. Communication & Presentation Skills - Exceptional communication, persuasion, and storytelling abilities—especially in high-pressure pitch settings. Strategic Thinking - Strong ability to translate business objectives into compelling creative ideas that fuel client interest and agency growth. Industry Knowledge - A deep understanding of healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing, regulatory environments, and category trends. Education - Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Advertising, or related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus. Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000 base salary + bonus eligibility BGB Group is headquartered in New York City, and the salary range listed reflects the expected base compensation for this role in the New York City metropolitan area.
