Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and visionary VP, Engagement Strategy to lead the omnichannel and experience strategy for BGB’s new business, pitch, and growth-focused initiatives. This senior leader will define how customer needs, behaviors, and motivations shape engagement journeys—and will build the strategic frameworks that bring those journeys to life within our pitch and growth work. The ideal candidate blends deep healthcare expertise with modern experience strategy, connecting insights, data, technology, and creativity into compelling engagement stories that win business and elevate BGB’s strategic offering. As a key strategic leader, you will collaborate closely with Creative, Brand Strategy, Medical Strategy, and Business Development partners to build omnichannel narratives that differentiate BGB, inspire clients, and drive ongoing agency expansion. Specific Responsibilities Engagement & Experience Strategy for New Business - Lead the development of omnichannel and engagement strategies that anchor BGB’s pitch and new business narratives - Translate customer, data, and category insights into compelling, simplified engagement stories tailored to prospective client needs - Create experience frameworks, opportunity maps, and engagement roadmaps that elevate our pitch offerings and differentiate BGB in the market Customer Insight & Journey Development - Shape customer journeys, personas, and segmentation models for pitch work—bringing HCPs, patients, caregivers, and other stakeholders to life with clarity and impact - Integrate behavioral insights, data, and channel strategy into holistic experience design Pitch Strategy & Presentation Leadership - Serve as a core engagement strategy presenter during pitches and workshops, articulating strategic choices with clarity and authority - Tell the engagement story in a way that is crisp, compelling, and tailored to prospective client challenges and opportunities Cross-Functional Strategic Collaboration - Partner closely with Creative Directors to ensure engagement strategies align seamlessly with creative concepts and storytelling - Work with analytics, media, medical strategy, and account teams to build integrated engagement narratives and omnichannel frameworks - Support pipeline planning and opportunity assessment with Business Development leadership Thought Leadership & Innovation - Stay ahead of healthcare, digital, and omnichannel experience trends to shape BGB’s new business strategy and capabilities - Bring innovative thinking to channel strategy, data-driven engagement, CRM/precision marketing, and emerging CX technologies Practice Leadership & Team Development - Mentor and guide the engagement strategy team, fostering excellence in experience design, omnichannel planning, and insight-driven strategic thinking - Develop and evolve BGB’s engagement strategy tools, frameworks, methodologies, and pitch processes - Contribute to expanding CX/engagement strategy capabilities across the agency Growth Partnership - Play a pivotal role in RFP responses, pitch strategy, and new business planning - Help BGB evolve its positioning and capabilities in ways that support long-term agency growth Preferred Qualifications Experience - 8+ years of experience in customer engagement, omnichannel strategy, CX, or digital marketing required - Experience with CX, digital, and engagement strategy in pharma, healthcare or life sciences industries required, ideally within advertising and/or communications agencies - Demonstrated experience developing engagement strategy for pitches or new business efforts is required Expertise - Deep understanding of omnichannel strategy, customer behavior, segmentation, journey mapping, and measurement - Strong grasp of healthcare ecosystems (HCP, patient, payer, caregiver) and the channel behaviors within each - Skilled in integrating insights, data, and technology into cohesive engagement plans Leadership - Proven ability to lead teams, mentor talent, and drive strategic excellence in fast-paced, high-stakes environments Communication Excellence - Outstanding presentation, communication, and storytelling skills—especially within pitch and executive client settings Ways of Working - Comfortable navigating ambiguity, managing complexity, and driving clarity across cross-functional teams and client conversations Education - Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred Salary Range: $175,000 - $200,000 base salary + bonus eligibility BGB Group is headquartered in New York City, and the salary range listed reflects the expected base compensation for this role in the New York City metropolitan area.
