Title: Sr. Estimator - Federal Construction Location: United States Remote Job Description: BBCH Support Services, LLC is seeking a talented Senior Construction Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. This is a remote position with the responsibility of managing 2-3 construction estimators. The senior construction estimators’ position will be responsible for oversight and execution of the estimating process for projects bid and following establish standard procedures, methods, processes, and software requirements for estimating. This is a US based REMOTE position and 10% travel is required for projects. Salary range: $125,000 - $165,000/annual Responsibilities Work closely with new hires during the on-boarding process. Has the ability to lead and teach junior level team members. Oversee and spot check team members work to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and accuracy. Review and approve time and expenses for assigned personnel. Develop pricing model per RFP requirements. Develop general and special conditions costs. Identify risk issues, their order of magnitude, and proposed solutions to minimize. Review constructability issues with key operational staff. Assist with review of subcontractor proposals to ensure scope coverage; and identify scope gap. Maintain and communicate data on construction and material cost trends. Ensure pricing model data accuracy. Work collaboratively with other preconstruction team members. Ensure effective transfer of awarded projects to field operation staff. Effectively communicate price proposal development process to senior management. Create/manage multiple estimates simultaneously. Qualifications Construction Management or Engineering Bachelor’s Degree preferred Advanced Excel experience required. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. 7-10 years (or more) of estimating experience in various market sectors, including federal government, commercial, and medical. Demonstrated experience working independently on projects from $2M to $30M. Experience with design build and design bid build RFPs. Ability to develop competitive price proposals on multiple projects simultaneously (4 to 6 proposals at varying stages of development). Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal. Proficiency with computer software to include MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.). ProEst or similar experience desirable. Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license. As a condition of employment, you may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable references and background check results. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to; hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Working Environment Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
