Role Description The Software Engineer II is a mid-level technical role responsible for supporting the design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of software applications and business solutions. This position operates with a high degree of independence across development and maintenance activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable technology solutions. Key Responsibilities - Software Development & Maintenance - Participate in the full development lifecycle of software applications and business process optimization projects. - Develop, enhance, and maintain applications, including upgrades and patches. - Diagnose and resolve system issues, bugs, and performance challenges. - Ensure application performance, reliability, and quality standards are met. - Design & Implementation - Assist in gathering user requirements through analysis and stakeholder discussions. - Complete design, development, testing, and debugging tasks within a team environment. - Develop and implement solutions for business optimization, including system enhancements and upgrades. - Collaboration & Support - Work collaboratively with team members and cross-functional partners to deliver solutions. - Provide feedback and guidance to less experienced engineers. - Respond to inquiries and support requests in a timely and professional manner. - Contribute to team-based problem solving and project planning activities. - Continuous Improvement & DevOps - Collaborate with DevOps teams to support system stability and CI/CD processes. - Contribute to process improvements and adoption of new technologies. - Maintain and update system documentation and development artifacts. - Technical Growth & Best Practices - Apply advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and project lifecycle principles. - Utilize a variety of programming languages, web technologies, and scripting tools. - Follow coding standards, best practices, and organizational guidelines. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience. - 2–4 years of experience with the Guidewire application working in a software analysis, development, and coding role. - Guidewire Cloud certified up to the Olos release of Policy Center. Requirements - Proficiency in one or more programming languages and development frameworks. - Guidewire Tools & Technologies: Gosu, PCF, Product Model, GX Models, Guidewire Studio, Document Assistant, Messaging Plugins. - Programming & Scripting: Gosu, Java, Python, SQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript. - Experience with web technologies, scripting tools, and development protocols. - Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies. - Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
