• Qualify and convert MQLs across all industries in the Mid-Market segment to generate pipeline for the sales team • Dedicate time to proactively sourcing opportunities through targeted outbound efforts • Experience best-in-class LMS to onboard and upskill • Role as a BDR to become an Account Executive, Account Manager, or pursue other career paths

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance, accounting or related field (preferred)
  • At least 4-6 months experience in a B2B SaaS environment, as a BDR or SDR
  • Experience using CRM (SalesForce preferred) & Sales Engagement Software (SalesLoft preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Available for client and larger team meetings (ex: Revenue Kick-Off, trade shows, etc.) for up to 5% travel time annually
  • Ability to travel to a minimum of one trade show per year is required

Role Description Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace, Inc. (KDA Inc.) is seeking a dynamic and highly experienced Business Development Director to drive growth for our Land Systems portfolio across the United States. This remote leadership role sits at the center of one of Kongsberg’s most strategically important product families—the PROTECTOR line of remote weapon stations and turret systems—and serves as the primary bridge between KDA Inc. in the U.S. and our counterparts at Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace in Norway. As the senior business development lead for this mission‑critical domain, you will: - Shape customer engagement strategies. - Cultivate high‑value relationships. - Influence key stakeholders across the U.S. Army, Department of War (DOW), and other defense programs. - Operate as the integrator, communicator, and problem‑solver. - Ensure seamless alignment between U.S. customer needs, OEM partners, funding and requirements offices, and Kongsberg’s global engineering and product teams. Responsibilities - Report to the Business Development Director and work as part of the KDA Inc. Business Development team. - Represent Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace (KDA) Business Unit Land Systems (BULS) with customer/user interactions. - Maintain strong relationships with all current and prospective US customers. - Coordinate Quarterly Update/Status meetings with existing customers. - Manage relationship between KDA and US Army acquisition community. - Grow a strong base of relationships within the US Army acquisition customer base. - Identify and pursue new business opportunities, commercial as well as military. - Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies. - Drive sales initiatives and revenue growth. - Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. - Assist customers with framing problem statements and solutions. - Coordinate preparation of all required cost information. - Participate in full opportunity lifecycle process. - Manage recurring Trade Show participation. - Be a collaborative member of the business development team. - Maintain awareness of new technology development/platform projects. - Hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn and develop. - Self-starter and team player who works well in dynamic teams. - Problem solver - identifying and resolving problems in production. - Collaborative and collegiate attitude to work. - Willingness to embrace KONGSBERG corporate values. - Willingness to travel and undergo training when required. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanical engineering and/or business management. - Acquisition program manager experience for the military preferred. - Military level professional military education equivalent required. Requirements - Prior military – 10 years of experience with various weapon systems, remote weapons stations/turrets. - Proven track record in Capture/Program Management. - Managed and/or supported a US Army vehicle or weapons program. - Thorough understanding of the defense market and US government procurement processes. - Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. - Proven leadership skills with a track record of managing high-performance teams. - Ability to work individually and as part of a cross-cutting, multi-function team. - Understanding of and experience in the use of business development and capture processes.
