The System Administrator II monitors system hardware, network, and infrastructure software performance, solve problems, and suggest improvements. This position typically also manages authorized access to system resources. Responsibilities and Duties: Provide advice and assistance to users to resolve basic queries and ensure the applications/website capabilities are well understood by the business. May manage a help-desk team. Prioritize own workflow and ensure work is completed to the required standards of productivity, quality, and timeliness; use performance management systems to improve personal performance. Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users’ needs. Design and select storage, data center, network, and client/server environments to design solutions in line with industry best practice and provide a third-line point of escalation for appropriate global infrastructure solutions. Support implementation of required security measures, such as firewalls or message encryption, monitoring performance to notify security experts of any problems. Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. Provide initial fault isolation and support in proposing resolution for approval by more senior colleagues to limit and address issues promptly. Use the knowledge management system to access specific information. Contribute to reviewing existing tasks in own area of work, and collect ideas for improvement of others. Your daily work As a System administrator – Database Services for T Cloud Public you will: - Solve complex challenges in the day‑to‑day operations of a hyperscaler’s cloud backend and taking part in daily operations with focus on our database services - Work hands‑on at the console— not afraid to get your hands “dirty” - Ideally drive end‑to‑end automation using industry‑standard automation frameworks - Collaborate in a team of specialists where open communication, trust, and mutual support are the norm Qualifications Your profile: - Must have: - Completed studies in a technical, engineering or scientific subject or comparable professional training - 2–3 years of hands‑on IT experience with a strong focus on modern cloud technologies (Operational tasks for Platform level (PAAS) including: upgrades, patches, Life Cycle Management Operational Tasks, bug management and incident management) - Good Linux expertise (Linux basics like ssh, scp, vim usage) and solid knowledge of network‑related services - Windows basics (remote desktop, citrix, mobaxterm usage) - Fluent in written and spoken English - Ideally/Strong advantages: - - Experience with infrastructure automation - Using at least one Automation Cloud Tools like: Cloud Scope or CodeArts Light, etc. - Using at least one Monitoring Cloud Tools like Graphana, etc. - Using at least one self-built Pipeline - Proven Track Record of min 3 years DevOps Containerization Tools (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.) - Using at least one repository (git, gitHub) - Experience with OpenStack and contributions to open‑source projects are a plus - Personal skills: - Agile - Good problem handling - Precise - Team worker - High level of customer orientation and service mindset Think you’ve got what it takes?
