Job Description

Staff Analyst – Banking & Investments

Horace Mann

• Execute daily banking activities, including cash positioning, short-term investments, and long-term investment transactions. • Process and reconcile daily bank activity. • Assist with projects related to cash collections, disbursements, and broader cash management initiatives. • Support the preparation and review of annual budgets for banking and investment-related expenses; track actuals and provide monthly variance analysis. • Serve as a primary point of contact for banking partners and assist in resolving operational issues. • Review and update cash management procedures to ensure compliance with SOX (Section 404) and disaster recovery requirements. • Support management in the operational aspects of capital structure oversight. • Participate in cross-functional and corporate projects as needed. • Continuously evaluate processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and controls.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year of experience in banking, treasury, or financial analysis preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
