VMware NSX Architect Contract Type: Up to 2 Year Contract Employment Type: W2 Employment Only Work Arrangement: Full Time W2 Remote Work Require Minimum Certification: VMware Certified Professional – Network Virtualization (VCP-NV) Position Summary Our client is seeking a VMware NSX Architect with a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying VMware NSX solutions in Enterprise environments. This individual must have a proven track record of creating Low Level Designs and then deploying the designed solution in production. The ideal candidate will have strong experience across VMware networking, virtualization, and security technologies, with the ability to move from architecture and design into hands-on implementation. Key Responsibilities - Design, architect, and deploy VMware NSX solutions in complex Enterprise environments - Develop detailed Low Level Design documentation for VMware NSX implementations - Translate business, technical, operational, and security requirements into scalable NSX architectures - Lead or directly execute NSX deployments, including installation, configuration, integration, validation, testing, and production cutover - Implement and support key NSX capabilities including logical switching, routing, distributed firewall, microsegmentation, edge services, and segmentation policies - Work closely with infrastructure, security, network, and virtualization teams to ensure successful solution delivery - Create implementation plans, migration runbooks, as built documentation, and operational handoff materials - Troubleshoot complex issues across NSX, VMware, routing, switching, and security domains - Support post-deployment stabilization, knowledge transfer, and transition to operations teams Required Qualifications - Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and deploying VMware NSX, including NSX-T / modern NSX platforms, in Enterprise environments - Proven experience creating Low Level Designs for VMware NSX solutions - Proven experience deploying VMware NSX based on approved design documentation in production Enterprise environments - Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter - Strong understanding of data center networking, routing, switching, segmentation, and security architecture - Experience with NSX Distributed Firewall and microsegmentation design and implementation - Experience with NSX Edge, Tier-0 and Tier-1 gateways, NAT, and routing services - Experience supporting implementation testing, production cutovers, and post-deployment validation - Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Preferred Qualifications - Experience with greenfield and brownfield VMware NSX deployments - Experience supporting large-scale Enterprise or multi-site environments - Experience with migration planning and execution involving VMware NSX - Experience integrating NSX with broader VMware infrastructure and operational processes - Experience working in regulated, highly available, or mission-critical environments Relevant / Preferred Certifications - VMware Certified Professional – Network Virtualization (VCP-NV) - VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Network Virtualization Design (VCAP-NV Design) - VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Network Virtualization Deploy (VCAP-NV Deploy) Ideal Candidate Profile - Has personally authored Low Level Designs for VMware NSX solutions - Has personally deployed VMware NSX in Enterprise production environments - Can operate at both the architecture and hands-on engineering level - Understands the intersection of VMware virtualization, networking, and security - Can own technical delivery from planning through deployment and stabilization
