The Behavioral Health Administrative Service Organization (BHASO) Finance Manger provides strategic financial and accounting leadership in support of program operations. This role is responsible for overseeing a large, multi funded budget, ensuring appropriate use of state and federal funds, and supporting provider and state contract financial management. The position requires a solid accounting foundation, the ability to analyze and manage complex funding streams, and the capacity to partner effectively with state agencies and providers to support long term financial sustainability. This role will strategically identify processes to improve financial operations, tracking and accountability. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. (remote in Colorado preferred) as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: - Provider Financial Management & Contracts - Provides strategic financial oversight of provider contracts, including budget development, monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting - Manages provider relationships related to financial performance, spending trends, and budget adherence; delivers regular financial reports and facilitates ongoing financial discussions - Partners with program and clinical leadership to assess provider financial needs, negotiate contract terms, and support sustainable payment structures - Monitors provider spending against approved budgets and leads routine reviews with providers and internal teams to evaluate year to date financial performance - Adjusts provider budgets, reallocates funding, and amends contracts as needed in response to utilization, performance, or funding changes - State Contracts & Funding Oversight - Leads management of state budgets in collaboration with program leadership - Maintains expert knowledge of multiple state and federal funding streams, including allowable uses, compliance requirements, and reporting expectations - Oversees financial deliverables tied to state contracts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance - Represents the organization in state meetings as needed and manages ongoing financial aspects of state relationships - Internal Financial Management & Strategy - Tracks, monitors, and forecasts state and program budgets; identifies risks and opportunities and recommends strategic budget adjustments - Supports internal finance teams with budget development, financial analysis, and reporting related to company and program budgets - Provides financial documentation, forecasts, and support for audits, including single audits - Coordinates with external partners supporting administrative and financial functions related to state contracts You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
