Basic Role Summary: This field-based role is responsible for driving sales growth and market share for designated Companion Animal product lines across an agreed portfolio of Independent customers, Buying Groups, Corporate Key Accounts, and veterinary practices. A key focus of the role is the development of the Northern Ireland market, establishing and expanding Chanelle Pharma’s footprint while building long-term, value-driven customer partnerships. Location: Remote; Mainly Across Northern Ireland As our Business Development Manager, your key responsibilities will be as follows: - Maintain a high level of expertise across the product portfolio, services, pricing structures, competitor activity, and market trends. - Deliver agreed sales, profit, market share, and distribution targets in line with company objectives and new product strategies. - Analyse territory, customer, and account performance to identify growth opportunities and risks. - Develop and implement robust Key Account Business Plans, including portfolio penetration, business expansion, promotional spend planning, and stakeholder development strategies. - Manage account performance against agreed plans, implementing proactive and corrective actions where required. - Negotiate and manage performance-based rebate agreements and develop account-level proposals for senior management approval. - Work closely with Key Account Managers to align corporate strategies with execution at practice level. - Build and manage strong relationships within national and regional account structures as directed by the National Sales Manager. - Establish effective relationships with multiple stakeholders across accounts to identify opportunities and implement tailored solutions. - Identify and develop new business opportunities within existing accounts, particularly within Companion Animal growth and under-penetrated practices. - Negotiate contract renewals and pricing agreements to achieve sustainable outcomes. - Manage and execute promotions within designated accounts to maximise commercial impact. - Plan and execute field activity to maximise customer contact and productivity in line with agreed call coverage standards. - Ensure all customer interactions are planned, executed, and documented in the CRM system, including pre-call planning and follow-up actions. - Deliver consistent, high-quality marketing messages aligned with company strategy. - Use CRM and sales data to plan, monitor, and optimise territory and account performance. - Design and implement effective promotions in line with management and marketing strategy. - Support pricing strategy development and provide market feedback on competitor activity. - Collaborate with marketing on Companion Animal campaigns and new product introductions. - Participate in forecasting activities to support accurate supply planning. - Manage allocated customer support budgets with strong financial discipline. - Drive focused growth in underperforming Companion Animal categories. Qualifications and Experience: - Proven experience in Key Account Management or Business Development within the Companion Animal veterinary market. - Strong understanding of veterinary practice dynamics, buying groups, and corporate account structures. - Ability to retain and apply detailed product and disease knowledge. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems. - Full, clean driving licence required.
