**Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:** The Content Manager will be the driving force behind the company’s content marketing strategy. This role will wear two hats: a Creator who crafts compelling, high-quality material (blogs, whitepapers, emails), and a Manager who oversees the editorial calendar, ensures technical accuracy, and maximizes the reach of every piece we publish. **Duties and Responsibilities:** **Content Strategy & Operations** - Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and conference registrations. - Manage the master content calendar, acting as the central hub for all content deliverables across the marketing, sales, and events teams. - Analyze content performance using web analytics and social metrics to make data-driven adjustments to our strategy and formats. - Identify trending AI and data science topics that align with our highly technical target audience's interests. **Content Creation & Copywriting** - Write, edit, and proofread high-quality content across multiple formats, including blog posts, in-depth articles, whitepapers, and case studies. - Craft engaging short-form copy for marketing materials, including email newsletters, website landing pages, and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook). - Conduct deep-dive research into AI trends, gathering accurate information to ensure all content is authoritative, highly engaging, and strictly on-brand. - Collaborate with subject matter experts, speakers, and the wider ODSC AI community to source quotes and technical insights. **Distribution & SEO** - Maximize content ROI by distributing assets across various channels, including social media, email marketing, and third-party content syndication networks. - Optimize all web content for SEO, applying best practices for keyword targeting, meta descriptions, and on-page structure to drive organic traffic. - Repurpose long-form content (like conference talks or whitepapers) into bite-sized assets for social media and email campaigns.
Job Requirements
- Must-have Skills/Qualification:**
- Experience: 3+ years in content marketing, journalism, or a similar role.
- Exceptional Writing & Editing: Native or near-native English proficiency with a meticulous eye for grammar, tone, and technical accuracy.
- Project Management: Strong ability to manage multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and a complex editorial calendar (experience with tools like Asana, Trello, or Jira is a plus).
- Tech-Savvy & Curious: You don't need to be a data scientist, but you must be deeply curious about Artificial Intelligence and capable of researching and translating complex tech concepts for a savvy audience.
- Analytical Mindset: Comfortable digging into Google Analytics or social media insights to see what content is actually working.
- Nice-to-Have**
- Experience working with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate outlining and research.
- Experience working in the B2B Tech, SaaS or AI/Data Science industries.
- Previous experience managing freelance writers or external contributors.
- Familiarity with WordPress or similar Content Management Systems.
- Advanced SEO Expertise: Proven experience optimizing content for search engines and working with tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Google Search Console.

The Editor-in-Chief would also serve as Deputy Editor for other Advanced titles, within their own areas of expertise. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated Advanced portfolio ambassador with an extensive global network in medical research, driving strategic initiatives that bridge groundbreaking research communities and shape how interdisciplinary science is published and shared worldwide. The Editor-in-Chief/Deputy Editor actively participates in the peer review process and decision-making for submitted manuscripts while ensuring adoption of best practices and the highest ethical standards in publishing. How you will make an impact: - Develop and execute strategic initiatives to grow Wiley's Advanced Portfolio within medicine globally. - Commission high-quality papers and build collaborative relationships with leading researchers through community engagement to enhance content quality and brand influence. - You will take ownership of the peer review process, and decision manuscripts, to ensure the highest possible editorial standards. - Collaborate with the global editorial team to manage manuscripts submitted from related Advanced titles. - Launch and oversee management of new Advanced spin-off titles in relevant subject areas as the brand expands. - Manage titles within a team of in-house editors and involvement in medical cluster strategies. - Collaborate closely with marketing teams to devise and implement brand-enhancing events and initiatives for both short-term and long-term success. - Lead generation and ideas for subject-related products passed on to appropriate colleagues What we look for: - PhD in any medical specialty. Post-doctoral and clinical experience would be preferred. - Demonstrated commissioning experience including identifying priority topics, approaching prospective authors, agreeing outlines/timelines, and guiding authors through to submission. - Manuscript handling experience (including prescreening, peer review, final decision, appeals and integrity cases). - Subject-Matter Expertise (academic). - Strong global network within research communities and proven track record of engaging with top-tier research talents. - Displays high integrity and honesty. - Mindset with ability to identify opportunities and convert strategic visions into actionable plans. - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders. - Love to travel (internationally).
