Job Description We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to support our lean, high-impact Data team. You’ll work closely with our Head of Data as the primary hands-on data engineer for this engagement, responsible for building and maintaining our modern data infrastructure. This is an opportunity to own the technical foundation of our data platform, working with a best-in-class tool stack while collaborating closely with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to enable data-driven decision making across the organization. You'll have significant autonomy and the chance to shape much of our data architecture from the ground up. This is a contract engagement (~40 hrs/week) for 6 months with possibility of extension. What you’ll do: - Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using our modern data stack (Fivetran, Stitch, Rudderstack, Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Hightouch, n8n) - Develop and optimize data models in dbt to support analytics, reporting, and data science initiatives - Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure reliability and accuracy across our data warehouse - Collaborate with the Head of Data to define technical architecture and best practices for data engineering - Build and maintain reverse ETL workflows to operationalize data across business systems - Write Python and JavaScript scripts when needed to solve custom data integration or transformation challenges - Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions - Document data pipelines, transformations, and infrastructure to enable team scalability - Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies - Design data infrastructure to support AI-powered use cases, including internal knowledge bases and AI-driven insights - Partner with platform and product engineering to support application analytics, API integrations, and AI model performance monitoring Who you are: - 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related technical role - Strong proficiency with SQL and experience building complex data transformations - Hands-on experience with modern data stack tools (dbt, Snowflake, Rudderstack, Fivetran, or similar ELT platforms) - Ability to write clean, maintainable code for data engineering tasks in languages like Python - Experience with data orchestration, pipeline monitoring, and troubleshooting data quality issues - Strong understanding of data warehouse design principles and dimensional modeling - Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal guidance - Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment as the primary hands-on data engineer for this engagement Compensation Hourly Rate: $72.00-$79.00/hour (depending on experience) Employment Type: Contract, Full-Time (~40hrs/week) Duration: 6 Months with possibility of extension
