Why Omnilex? At Omnilex, we’re on a mission to transform the way lawyers work. Our AI-native platform lets legal professionals enhance their productivity in legal research and automate workflows. We collaborate closely with our clients and iterate at a market-leading pace. In a year, we have gone from an early MVP to a product used daily by thousands of legal professionals at our clients in Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein - and are now scaling rapidly across Europe. You’ll be joining a young, passionate and dynamic team of 13. Joining Omnilex at this early stage you will have a large responsibility from day one with an unlimited potential to grow personally and professionally together with the team. Your role Let’s get the tricky part out of the way: this role doesn’t fit neatly into a traditional box. It’s part legal ops, part product specialist, and part client whisperer. If you enjoy roles that stay static, this probably isn’t it. Your mission is to help our clients, some of the most advanced legal teams in Europe, get the most out of Omnilex. Some of what you’ll be up to: - Acting as a thought partner to clients - building trusted relationships, addressing tricky pain points, and identifying high-value opportunities for them to scale their use of Omnilex. - Taking full ownership of client relationship - from running pilots in the early stages, to onboarding new users, and ultimately guiding full-firm adoption across law firms and corporate legal departments. - Run workshops with lawyers and legal teams to identify and implement AI-driven use cases. - Be the voice of the user inside Omnilex- sharing insights that directly inform product development, roadmap priorities, and strategic direction. - Delivering clear, confident product demos and training that bring the power of our platform to life. - Documenting best practices, contribute to the development of scalable playbooks, and help shape how we grow this function internationally. This is a customer-facing role that combines legal know-how with a strong interest in technology, workflows, and product thinking. What you bring You come from the world of law; but you’ve never been content with how things have always been done. You may have started out at a top-tier law firm. Maybe you’ve worked in a corporate legal team, seeing thorny operational problems from the inside. Perhaps you've even tried disrupting the status-quo through a legal tech company, or ventures of your own. Experience with legal tech, no-code tools, or software projects is a strong plus. Either way, you know how legal teams think, work, and (sometimes) struggle and you're ready to help them level up with technology. Besides that, you’re fluent in German and English and you have either a EU/EFTA Citizenship or a Swiss work permit. You’ll fit this role if you: - Have a background in law, with experience at a top-tier firm or in-house legal team. - Are tech-curious and product-savvy. Not necessarily a coder, but passionate navigating technical conversations, especially around things like generative AI, technology implementation, innovation and productivity. - Communicate clearly and confidently with diverse stakeholders, both lawyers and engineers. I.e. translating across disciplines is second nature to you. - Bring structure to ambiguity and energy to complexity; and enjoy being the calm, credible presence in a fast-moving environment. - Understand how to evaluate and improve existing processes as a direct result of new and emerging technologies - Are proactive, self-directed, and comfortable juggling multiple client relationships at once. - Care deeply about quality, but don’t get stuck in perfectionism - you get things done, and you make them better over time. Benefits - A key role at the intersection of law and AI in one of Europe’s most exciting legal tech startups. - A collaborative, high-energy team environment where your ideas and contributions are valued and implemented. - Direct customer impact and deep involvement in product development. - A smart, motivated team with backgrounds in AI, law and design. - Competitive salary complemented with transparent competitive ESOP (employee stock options). - High ownership, fast learning curve, and a clear mission.

We’re looking for a high-potential, early-career engineer — someone who lives and breathes AI, learns obsessively, builds side projects for fun, and wants to grow into a full-stack or backend specialist. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work directly with senior engineers contribute to real product features, and learn modern development practices across the stack. You’ll be involved in shaping our AI-integrated workflows, helping prototype new features, improving internal tools, and strengthening the product experience. If you're the kind of person who installed OpenAI’s SDK before reading the docs, or who breaks things because you’re too curious — this role is for you. This is not a “task executor” position; it’s a launchpad. We’ll coach you, but you’ll be expected to ship and grow fast. What You’ll Do - Design clean, intuitive, high-performance user interfaces. - Develop and maintain robust APIs and backend services. - Integrate AI agents and workflows into product experiences. - Ensure reliability, observability, and performance in production. - Contribute to engineering standards and mentor teammates. Technical Requirements - Solid understanding of Python or JavaScript/TypeScript. - Basic React or backend framework experience (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Node). - Comfortable writing SQL queries and working with relational databases. - Familiarity using APIs (REST/GraphQL), especially AI providers. - Strong desire to learn how to design APIs, build production services, and write maintainable code. - Curiosity about LLMs, prompt engineering, and integrating AI into product experiences - Portfolio of side projects, GitHub repos, or school projects that show initiative Nice to Have - Experience building toy LLM agents or using LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc. - Some exposure to Docker, Linux, or cloud platforms - Built a browser extension or small desktop app - Personal interest in UX and how people interact with software - Hackathon participation, open-source contributions, or fun AI side projects

Messy spend management is tricky business. And tedious processes are a lose-lose situation for all involved, not just finance. At Pleo, we're changing that. We build spend solutions that make managing money seamless, empowering, and surprisingly effective for finance teams and employees alike - with a vision to help all businesses ‘go beyond’. The word ‘Pleo’ actually means ‘more than you’d expect’, and living by that mantra has been the secret to our success over the last 10 years. Now, we’re at a pivotal moment in our journey; every move we make has a direct impact on our 40,000+ customers, our business, and our collective success. We need people who take pride in uncovering customer needs, who turn complex problems into simple solutions, challenge the way things are done (respectfully), and always aim high. With great ambitions driving us forward, we can’t say we’ve got this whole thing figured out. And frankly, that’s half the fun! What we can say is that we’re a driven, progressive, and, importantly, a kind bunch of 850+ people from over 100 nationalities, all committed to delivering the future of business spending, together. At Pleo, we're on a mission to make spend management surprisingly effective and empowering. We're hiring a Staff Engineer to join the GenAI Core team. You will help set technical direction for Pleo's AI platform, the shared infrastructure that enables product teams across the company to build AI-powered features reliably and at scale. What GenAI Core does GenAI Core owns and operates Pleo's AI platform infrastructure. We are the team that makes it possible for every other product team at Pleo to build AI-powered features, reliably, observably, and without reinventing the wheel. That means: - LLM routing and access: a centralised LLM proxy layer (LiteLLM) that routes requests to different model providers (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, Google Gemini), with budget enforcement and rate limiting - Observability and evaluation: integrations and tooling (BrainTrust) to monitor, log, and evaluate LLM calls in production, supporting both automated evaluation and human review - Platform standards and guidance: we define how AI is done at Pleo, providing patterns, contracts, and shared components that product teams build on - Internal consulting: as product teams across Pleo adopt AI capabilities, GenAI Core will increasingly act as a technical partner, helping teams design and implement AI features correctly on top of the platform This is software engineering work. While the domain revolves around AI infrastructure, you will spend most of your time building reliable, scalable backend systems. What you’ll be doing In this role, you will be a force multiplier for platform quality and technical direction. - Drive the design, delivery, and evolution of the GenAI Core platform, the shared AI infrastructure used by all product teams at Pleo - Own and evolve service architecture, APIs, and integration contracts, with a high bar for reliability and observability - Set technical direction for key parts of the platform, including LLM routing, budget enforcement, observability pipelines, and evaluation infrastructure - Lead cross-team technical initiatives and act as a trusted technical partner when product teams need to build AI-powered features on top of the platform - Raise the engineering bar through strong practices: code reviews, incident follow-ups, safe change management, and resilient system design - Proactively identify and address technical debt, and guide the team through architectural decisions and migrations - Support other engineers through pairing, reviews, and technical guidance - Contribute hands-on in code. You should expect to be coding a meaningful part of the time. You’ll bring solid experience with - Designing and maintaining backend systems with strong requirements for reliability and observability - Building and operating a shared platform or infrastructure components used by multiple teams - Distributed systems fundamentals, including async workflows, idempotency, consistency, and designing for failure - API design, clear service boundaries, and integrating with external systems in a maintainable way - Observability and owning systems in production, including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-mortems - Strong testing practices and a high quality mindset - Clear communication and pragmatic decision-making across teams and stakeholders Nice to have - Hands-on experience working with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or similar) in a production system - Familiarity with LLM evaluation patterns such as LLM-as-judge, vector similarity, and sampling strategies - Experience building or operating proxy or routing layers for AI workloads Your colleagues would say you - Lead by example and raise the bar with pragmatism and care - Communicate clearly, listen well, and bring people along in decisions - Enjoy breaking down complex problems, gathering input, and driving to a solution - Coach and mentor others and create space for people to grow - Prefer progress over perfection, while still caring deeply about quality Show me the benefits! - Your own Pleo card (no more out-of-pocket spending!) - Lunch is on us for your work days - enjoy catered meals or receive a lunch allowance based on your local office 🍜 - Comprehensive private healthcare - depending on your location, coverage options include Vitality, Alan or Médis - We offer 25 days of holiday + your public holidays - For our Team, we offer both hybrid and fully remote working options - Option to purchase 5 additional days of holiday through a salary sacrifice - We use MyndUp to give our employees access to free mental health and well-being support with great success so far ❤️‍🩹 - Paid parental leave - we want to make sure that we're supportive of families and help you feel that you don't have to compromise your family due to work 👶 About your application English first. Since it's our company language, please submit your application in English. You’ll be using it a lot if you join us. A fair look for everyone. Our talent team reads every single application to ensure the process is fair. To keep things running smoothly, we only accept applications through our system—our support team can’t pass on calls or emails. Diversity drives us. We can only reach our goals if our team reflects the world around us. That starts with you hitting apply, even if you don't tick every single box. We encourage people from all backgrounds and experiences to join us. Interview at your best. We want you to feel comfortable throughout the process. If you have any accessibility requirements or need a specific format, email belonging@pleo.io. We’ll design a process that works for you. Your data is safe.
