About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled, proactive Video Editor to take full ownership of content production and distribution. This role focuses on building a seamless “film-and-forget” system—transforming raw recordings into high-performing content across YouTube, podcast platforms, Instagram, and TikTok. You’ll manage editing, repurposing, distribution, and workflow optimization , while bringing strategic input to elevate content quality and consistency.

Job Requirements

  • Edit short-form and long-form videos for social media, websites, and marketing campaigns.
  • Cut and assemble footage with transitions, effects, and animations as needed.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and maintains a consistent look and feel.
  • Optimize videos for different platforms, formats, and aspect ratios.
  • Organize and manage video files and assets using Google Drive.
  • Meet project deadlines and communicate progress with the content team.
  • Qualifications:**
  • Experience editing both short-form and long-form video content, with a portfolio to show.
  • Proficiency in Short Form editing for Social Media; familiarity with other editing tools is a plus.
  • Strong eye for pacing, visual style, and brand consistency.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics or visual effects is a bonus.

As a Video Archive & Editing Intern, you’ll get hands-on experience working with decades of surf media - diving into a rich library of footage while learning the tools, workflows and behind-the-scenes operations that power a modern content team. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Video Programming Manager to gain insight into how large-scale media libraries are organized, maintained and brought to life. You’ll help audit legacy server storage, catalog archival footage, and improve how our video assets are structured and accessed. This is a unique opportunity to play a meaningful role in preserving Surfline’s media history while building real-world skills in video editing, media management and content operations. Under Surfline’s “Work from Anywhere” policy, this position may be performed on a remote basis from any location within California.
