Job Description

Accounting Manager

• Full-cycle accounting (AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations) • Month-end and year-end close—accurate and on time • Financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual) • Chart of accounts and transaction classification • Billing and revenue operations (recurring, project-based, and contract work) • Invoicing accuracy, revenue recognition, and collections • Job costing and profitability tracking across customers, projects, and services • Payroll oversight and labor cost allocation • Expense management, including equipment tracking and depreciation • Compliance with GAAP and state/local tax requirements • Sales tax coordination across multiple jurisdictions (if applicable) • Audit support and external accountant coordination • Internal controls and documentation • Process improvements across accounting workflows • Cross-functional partnership with operations and leadership • Support for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team oversight
  • Strong command of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience in service-based, construction, or rental environments preferred
  • Proficiency with accounting systems (QuickBooks or similar ERP)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
  • Experience operating in multi-entity or multi-location environments is a plus
  • Familiarity with sales tax compliance across multiple states preferred
  • CPA or CMA is a plus, not required
  • Track record of improving or scaling accounting processes.
