• The Senior Instructional Designer is the lead Instructional Designer (ID) for a product team • Supervises the development and assembly of digital learning objects and other content in support of online course products from inception through release • Represents the ID Team in integration activities across vendors • Working with Content Managers and Product Managers to recommend learning activities and online pedagogy that is consistent with learning science principles and the capabilities of the online learning environment • Experiment with the flow and delivery of content during the early development phase • Review work and plans to determine which learning activities can be built in-house using Storyline, Synthesia, Camtasia, Vyond, or other tools • Determine which content must be outsourced for outside development • Author online content in the authoring environment of the course platform or content delivery mechanisms chosen by APA • Build out learning activities in Storyline, Vyond, Synthesia, Camtasia, and other applications based on plans and work prepared by the Content Managers • Adhere to branding and ADA compliance standards in the development process • Participate in daily stand-ups and other product meetings.

• Collaborate with internal clients to assess needs, coordinate, design, develop, and deliver interactive learning solutions • Understand and have in-depth experience with the ADDIE model to create effective training solutions • Conduct needs assessments and other types of analysis to identify gaps in employee performance or knowledge • Demonstrate effective communication skills to serve as a learning consultant to align training strategies • Be competent in adult learning theory and fundamental training approaches • Use curriculum development tools to create effective e-learning training, facilitation guides, course material, and training aids • Work within an LMS to test all courseware prior to delivery • Maintain awareness of new developments in training and instructional design

• Support the implementation of training and onboarding for new crisis line staff and volunteers • Help facilitate instructional activities, role plays, mentorship sessions, and onboarding logistics • Support the crisis line foundational training, specialized program training, and continuing education • Lead components of volunteer recruitment and onboarding, including reviewing and evaluating applications and on-demand video interviews • Scheduling and facilitating group interviews, and tracking onboarding progress • Maintain and update training materials, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current practices • Facilitate training activities including lectures, large and small group role plays, and experiential learning exercises • Mentor trainees by conducting one-on-one and small group practice sessions and offering constructive feedback • Monitor training participation and assignment completion, following up with trainees when tasks are incomplete or overdue • Track attendance and performance data during training, share observations with the Training Coordinators, and collaborate on strategies to support trainees who may need additional guidance • Recruit and coordinate role players and mentors for each training cohort • Serve on the crisis lines regularly (calls, chats, or texts) to maintain connection to the work, reinforce training alignment with real-time needs, and model best practices for trainees
