Consumer Insights Summer Intern

MaryRuth’s is seeking a Consumer Insights Summer Intern to support the Consumer Insights team by helping bring the voice of the consumer into everyday decision-making. This role plays a key part in collecting, organizing, and translating data into meaningful insights that inform product development, marketing strategies, and overall brand direction. This intern will assist in building and executing surveys for both internal employees and external consumers, coordinating product shipments for testing, and supporting the creation of presentations that clearly communicate findings. This is a temporary (6/1/26 to 8/7/26), full-time, hourly, non-exempt, remote role. EST or CST hours are preferred. Must be currently enrolled (as of 6/1/2026) in an academic program, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field. Responsibilities - Assist in creating, deploying, and monitoring surveys for internal Product Evaluation Panel and external consumers, ensuring questions are clear, aligned with objectives, and easy to analyze. - Support the collection, cleaning, and organization of consumer data from surveys, feedback, and other sources, maintaining accuracy and accessibility for the broader team. - Manage logistics for internal product testing, including organizing participant lists, shipping products to panelists, and tracking deliveries and responses. - Assist in building presentations that translate data and findings into compelling, easy-to-digest insights for cross-functional teams. - Help maintain organization across projects, trackers, and documentation, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations within the Consumer Insights function. - Other responsibilities as assigned. Learning Objectives - Develop a strong understanding of consumer research fundamentals, including survey design, data collection, and insight generation; gain hands-on experience with survey platforms and best practices for writing clear, unbiased questions. - Summarize raw data and findings into actionable insights to support business decisions, building skills in data organization and analysis, identifying key trends, themes, and consumer behaviors. - Understand the end-to-end product testing process, from panel coordination to feedback synthesis, and utilize project management skills to manage timelines, shipments, and multiple workstreams. Qualifications - Must be currently enrolled (as of 6/1/2026) in an academic program, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field. - Strong interest in consumer behavior, market research, and wellness/CPG industries. - Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; proactive, curious, and eager to learn with a problem-solving mindset. - Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Suite; comfortable working with data, and experience with survey tools is a plus. Physical Requirements - Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. - This role involves sitting most of the time but may also involve moving for brief periods of time.
