Role Description J Michael Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact informatics initiatives in collaboration with public health partners across federal, state, and local levels. This role leverages deep expertise in technical project management and team leadership to drive strategic planning, guide execution, and ensure successful delivery in fast-paced, evolving environments. - Oversee multi-disciplinary teams, managing project budgets, timelines, and resources. - Foster strong cross-functional collaboration among stakeholders. - Communicate effectively at the executive level, manage client relationships and escalations. - Drive organizational change and multi-system implementations, including readiness assessments and communication/training strategies. - Engage stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, supporting project management activities by identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies. - Lead complex, multi-phase technical projects using client-directed methodologies and/or JMC Project Management Office (PMO) standards. - Execute project management activities in alignment with client and JMC PMO policies. - Apply QA and testing methodologies, proactively mitigate risks, and maintain scope, budget, and timeline integrity. - Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. - Support and mentor junior Project Managers and Project Coordinators. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred. - Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Project Manager in public health, laboratory, healthcare, or a related environment. - Experience in public health is strongly preferred, with familiarity across federal, state, and/or local health systems. - Experience applying Project Management Institute (PMI) methodologies and best practices; PMP certification preferred. - Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in fast-paced, client-facing environments. - Experience using project management and collaboration tools, such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and/or Monday.com (proficiency preferred). - Proven experience managing software development and/or system implementation projects. - Experience supporting account management functions, including client strategic planning and budget development. - Proficiency in developing and maintaining key project management artifacts. - Strong facilitation skills, with experience leading meetings and discussions with diverse stakeholder groups. - Ability to lead cross-organizational initiatives and drive projects in a remote environment. - Demonstrated ability to plan, promote, and advance public health programs. - Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and convey complex information. Requirements - Compensation: The salary range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. - Final compensation will be determined based on skills and experience.
