Mindrift is looking for skilled Integration Developers (API Specialists) to join the Tendem project (https://tendem.ai/) and build robust system integrations within our hybrid AI + human environment. In this role, as an AI Pilot – that’s how we refer to this position at Mindrift – you’ll collaborate with Tendem Agents that handle repetitive tasks, while you provide system integration expertise, structured thinking, and quality control to ensure reliable and scalable data connectivity across platforms. This part-time remote opportunity is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in APIs, webhooks, and building multi-system data pipelines. Our mission is to unlock the potential of Generative AI by tapping into real-world expertise from across the globe. About the Role This is a freelance role for a Tendem project. As an Integration Developer (API Specialist), you'll design, build, and optimize integrations between business systems, ensuring reliable data flow and synchronization across multiple platforms. Key Responsibilities - Design and evaluate integrations between core business systems (CRMs, ad platforms, email tools) - Build and optimize workflows using APIs, webhooks, and real-time or batch data pipelines - Connect and synchronize databases across platforms (Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion or similar) - Ensure reliable, real-time data transfer and consistency across systems and services - Troubleshoot and improve data flow performance, latency, and failure handling - Support integration of automated communication systems (e.g., messaging, outreach, or calling workflows) Compensation On this project, contributors can earn up to $60 per hour equivalent, depending on their level and pace of contribution. Compensation varies across projects depending on scope, complexity, and required expertise. Please note that other projects on the platform may offer different earning levels based on their requirements.

Job Requirements

  • At least 2-3 year of relevant experience in API integrations, automation, backend systems, or software development (required).
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical fields is a plus.
  • Strong experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, and data exchange formats (JSON or similar).
  • Proven ability to design and manage integrations across multiple SaaS tools and business systems.
  • Solid background in database synchronization across platforms (Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion or similar).
  • Experience building reliable data pipelines with proper error handling, retries, and validation mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated experience building scalable, fault-tolerant integration systems across multiple services.
  • Strong understanding of API rate limits, pagination, authentication, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience working with real-time vs. batch processing pipelines and choosing appropriate architectures.
  • Experience integrating communication systems (email, messaging APIs, outreach automation).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data consistency and reliability.
  • Self-directed work ethic with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize integration workflows independently.
  • Portfolio or examples of integration systems or API-based projects is a plus.
  • English proficiency: Upper-intermediate (B2) or above (required).
