Context: CAR-T is a unique class of treatment, involving a complex process for the hospitals that will (i) play a meaningful role in the manufacturing process through cell collection and storage and (ii) deliver the treatment to patients and ensure appropriate follow-up. Several investigational CAR-T products will come to the market in the coming years, and hospitals will need to be certified. While clinical profile will remain essential, the user experience, and the ease of getting set up will be critical. Overall purpose of the role The CTAL is a business-level partner to the site CAR-T lead physician, hospital management and Quality team. They are responsible for developing the overall Johnson & Johnson (J&J) cell therapy site strategic business plan, including contracting, training and other steps involved in the qualification of hospital treatment centres to be able to treat patients with J&J cell and gene therapies. This person will also be operating as One Face to the site for set up and certification, and responsible for delivering best in class experience. The CTAL also acts as the key partner during operations and assist sites in ongoing capacity optimisation. You will develop the operational educational and solutions design plan for the centres as well as for UK customer facing teams. Main areas of responsibility Develops overall J&J IM cell therapy sites strategic plan - Activates sites and establishes relationships with key partners / decision makers for certification purposes only - Develop strategic key business questions finding opportunities to develop & influence the cross-functional tactical plan - Identify & implement operationally new initiatives, updated training materials, processes and systems updates including strategic projects led by the Business Unit to improve operations in centres managing CAR-T sustaining efficiency and higher patient reach - Develop and deliver appropriate plans to improve CART patient management and sharing best practices across the network of UK CART centres & the EMEA region Operates as One face to the site to enable best in class experience during site setup & certification - Develops and co-delivers site certification and training strategy - Coordinates all J&J collaborators around sites, including the Site Certification Team, the EMEA COE and the OpCo/cluster medical teams - Influence and develop the EMEA regional COE to ensure the strategic and tactical plans will be fit for purpose for the UK and successfully differentiate us vs competition - Drives contracting process by working with legal professionals to ensure it is streamlined for hospital team - Works with the Supply chain, quality, regulatory, legal, compliance and medical teams to establish site protocols and processes around CAR-T - Ensures implementation of cell therapy operations into hospital guidelines - Orchestrates delivery of site certification training, coordinating appropriate J&J IM partners including supply chain and medical - Coordinates final site certification Proactively assist sites in ongoing optimisation of processes and infrastructure, including: - Assists sites in throughput planning - Supports sites in capacity expansion or new indications and workflow changes - Leads all aspects of ongoing site audits and inspections - Support centres to scale-up their CART operations via deployment of spoke and hub models to improve the access to patients Role Requirements - Critical thinking, ability to implement business plans, good communication and negotiation skills - Ability to nurture senior level relationships and build partnerships with collaborators - Understanding of dynamics in sophisticated organisations and ability to influence people - Strong therapy area, disease and product knowledge - Prior CAR-T experience strongly preferred but equivalent experience considered - Deep understanding of UK hospital operations - Strong project management skills - English proficiency Background - Advanced degree in life sciences and / or business or equivalent experience - Bio/pharma experience needed, haematology / oncology or cell therapy experience strongly preferred - Experience in a CRO, Field Medical or Local access or Supply Chain is appreciated - At least 5 years of prior experience in key account management in a healthcare environment - Project management and hospital experience What type of mark will you make?
