Staff Software Engineer
R1 RCM
• Design, code, test, deploy, and operate backend services, data pipelines, and AI systems • Lead the design and delivery of larger features or systems • Raise the bar for code quality, reliability, and security through thoughtful design reviews • Mentor and support other engineers through pairing and feedback • Partner closely with product managers to turn complex manual workflows into scalable AI automations • Work with AI and ML engineers to build AI-native systems that combine deterministic logic and traditional ML models
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building and operating products backed by ML/AI systems
- Organizational-level technical leader who sets direction across multiple teams or initiatives
- Strong track record of mentoring engineers and improving team execution
- Hands-on engineer who enjoys writing code and debugging real production issues
- Comfortable speaking directly with users and designing solutions based on their needs
- Experienced with scaling systems and resolving issues across performance, reliability, and data correctness
