City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift First (Days) Overview: Position Summary The Learning & Development (L&D) Facilitator – Professional and Leadership Development is responsible for delivering high-impact learning experiences across all employee levels to include individual contributors, frontline leaders, managers, and senior leaders. This role partners closely with Talent Management, HR Business Partners, Talent Management Business Partners, business leaders, program managers, and subject matter experts to develop and facilitate enterprise courses, leadership programs, and team learning solutions. The facilitator supports virtual learning modalities, ensuring scalable, inclusive, and measurable outcomes aligned to enterprise capabilities and culture. --- Primary Responsibilities Enterprise and Leadership Course Facilitation & Delivery · Facilitate engaging instructor-led workshops on core professional skills and leadership programs. · Manage and facilitate multi-session leadership programs—from front-line leaders to senior leader cohorts (e.g., foundations, leading teams, strategic leadership). · Leverage interactive learning methods (role plays, simulations, peer coaching, polling, breakout rooms, collaborative whiteboarding) to support experiential learning and sustained behavior change. · Track participant progress, coaching touchpoints, and program milestones. · Conduct needs assessments to translate and define training needs and recommend appropriate modalities. Partnership & Course Development · Partner with Talent Management and Instructional Designers to tailor enterprise courses (learning objectives, agendas, facilitator guides, participant materials, job aids, practice scenarios). · Pilot new programs: gather feedback and iterate content for impact, consistency, and brand/standards alignment. · Curate resources (microlearning, toolkits, pathways) for sustainment. Technology, Tools & Operations · Produce and co-produce virtual sessions in Microsoft Teams using engagement features (polls, reactions, breakout rooms, whiteboards). · Uphold brand and accessibility standards across all learning assets. Team Training & Enterprise Requests · Conduct needs assessments to translate and define training needs and identify targeted learning solutions (team effectiveness, feedback culture, psychological safety, change/adoption, meeting norms, conflict resolution). · Recommend appropriate modalities (workshops, learning sprints, microlearning, toolkits) and deliver or coordinate delivery. · Facilitate targeted team sessions and escalate needs for OD consultation when appropriate. --- Preferred Qualifications · 3–5+ years in Learning & Development, Talent Development, Organizational Development, or related field. · Demonstrated experience facilitating both in-person and virtual learning for mixed-level audiences (individual contributors through senior leaders). · Experience supporting leadership development programs (multi-session curricula, cohorts, assessments, experiential learning). · Proficiency with Microsoft Teams (breakouts, polls, whiteboard), presentation tools (PowerPoint). · Strong platform skills: presence, pacing, engagement, inclusive facilitation, and handling challenging dynamics. · Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills; ability to juggle multiple programs and deadlines. · Experience developing learning content (facilitator guides, participant materials, scenarios, job aids). · Familiarity with learning evaluation and analytics (Kirkpatrick, surveys, behavior/application follow-ups). · Experience with leadership assessments (e.g., 360s, DiSC/MBTI/CliftonStrengths) and debrief facilitation.
