• Lead the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems, components, and subsystems, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards. • Develop detailed 3D models, CAD drawings, and prototypes for mechanical systems, including mechanisms, thermal systems, structural components, and assemblies. • Perform engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and fluid flow analysis, to validate designs and ensure performance, safety, and reliability. • Work closely with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) to ensure integration of mechanical components with other systems. • Conduct failure analysis and troubleshooting, providing corrective actions for any issues that arise during design, testing, or production. • Manage the entire lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, from initial concept and design through prototyping, testing, and final production. • Define program scope, objectives, and deliverables, and establish clear schedules, budgets, and resource plans. • Track and report on project progress, proactively managing risks and changes to ensure timely and successful delivery. • Coordinate efforts across internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment and smooth execution across multiple departments and stakeholders. • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including engineering specifications, project plans, and progress reports. • Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers, designers, and technicians, providing technical direction and fostering a collaborative environment. • Serve as the main point of contact between the mechanical engineering team and other departments (e.g., operations, product management, quality assurance). • Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to define technical requirements, identify potential challenges, and ensure alignment with project goals. • Lead design reviews, ensuring designs are aligned with project requirements and standards, and drive improvements based on feedback. • Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure mechanical systems meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards. • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of mechanical design, development, and testing. • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, ASTM) and safety regulations throughout the design and manufacturing phases. • Contribute to the development of best practices for mechanical engineering and project management within the organization.

• Developing a thorough understanding and delivery of the project requirements as they relate to scope, cost, and schedule. • Determining and expediting the engineering deliverables for projects. • Developing and maintaining the project scope of work documentation and revisions as required during the design evolution. • Designing of electrical systems, including power distribution systems, UPS systems, standby generator systems, and security and life systems. • Preparing the engineering calculations, schematic designs and detailed designs. • Preparing technical documentation required for the execution of the project including design criteria, design calculations, process flow sheets, and specification and data sheets for electrical equipment. • Reviewing of shop drawings. • Producing models and drawings in various BIM software and CAD modeling tools. • Using BIM tools to virtually construct Electrical systems and coordinate with other disciplines using tools such as Autodesk Revit.

• Provide services as an independent business entity under a formal independent contractor agreement. • Modeling, designing power distribution, security, and life systems, standby generators, and UPS systems. • Performing calculations, preparing technical documentation, and ensuring design accuracy using advanced BIM and electrical engineering tools. • Collaborate closely with other disciplines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. • Contributing to the full project lifecycle from schematic design through execution.

What you’ll do: - Design, prototype, and analyze exciting new products and components from concept to mass production. - Collaborate across engineering and operations disciplines to solve problems in a fast-paced development environment.. - Conduct hands-on failure analysis and implement corrective actions for design improvements. - Work closely with component suppliers and manufacturing partners in Taiwan and across Asia. - Develop and conduct technical experiments to select designs, materials, and technologies. - Supervise the mechanical designs of components and assemblies and lead technical design reviews. - Travel internationally up to 50%. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Strong engineering fundamentals, including wide knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods. - Expert-level proficiency in all aspects of consumer electronics manufacturing including fixturing, assembly techniques, process control, and automation in a mass production environment. - Expert level proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D documentation. - Technical background in product design, mechanical architecture, tolerance analysis, design for manufacturing, and structural analysis. - Strong communication skills -- written, verbal, and presentations. - Ability to clearly communicate your ideas to peers and leadership. Minimum Qualifications: - BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field. - 11+ years of relevant industry experience, including mass production of consumer electronic devices. - Fluent English and Mandarin communication skills Preferred Qualifications: - MS (or PhD) in mechanical engineering or related field. - Experience designing and assembling complex consumer electronic and optical assemblies and products - Experience with designing plastic/metal components, printed circuit boards, and flexible printed circuits. - Demonstrated mentorship and leadership experience as a technical, team, people, or project leader. - Experience with NX CAD software.
