• Aledade is recruiting for 2026 Summer Interns! Interns receive guidance from senior leaders and take part in substantive, hands-on projects that foster an understanding of overall operations at Aledade and the function of our complex healthcare system in general. • The objective of this internship is to research, design, and prototype the Universal EHR Context Protocol, using HCC risk adjustment abstraction as the primary evaluation case. • The protocol will first attempt to fulfill requests via standard API routes. Upon encountering an API gap, the system will trigger a secure, read-only browser-use agent to navigate the EHR UI, open the relevant unstructured document, extract the clinical evidence using Vision-Language Models (VLMs), and normalize it into a standard JSON schema for review within the Aledade Overlay.

• Architect and develop advanced software systems that support cutting-edge AI research and experimental prototypes. • Collaborate closely with scientists and researchers to translate novel algorithms, models, and concepts into functional prototype systems. • Design and implement flexible research platforms that enable rapid experimentation, evaluation, and iteration. • Contribute to the development of innovative AI-enabled capabilities across domains such as human–AI teaming, synthetic media analysis, influence modeling, and agent-based systems. • Lead the design and implementation of software architectures for complex research prototypes, including APIs, data pipelines, model integration layers, and evaluation frameworks. • Build modular and extensible systems that allow Aptima researchers and external collaborators to rapidly integrate new models, analytics, and experimental capabilities. • Balance rapid research iteration with maintainable and well-structured engineering practices. • Support experimentation with emerging AI approaches including agentic systems and multimodal analytics. • Implement and integrate machine learning and AI models within experimental systems and research testbeds to support internal evaluation and integration with external systems for large-scale evaluation experiments and demonstrations. • Develop workflows that support model training, evaluation, experimentation, and comparative analysis. • Develop containerized research environments using tools such as Docker to support reproducible experimentation. • Assist in preparing prototype systems for technology demonstrations with sponsors such as DARPA, DoW laboratories, and operational partners. • Provide technical leadership on R&D projects, helping shape system architectures and technical approaches, and collaborating with engineering leadership across the company. • Work across multidisciplinary teams including AI researchers, cognitive scientists, and engineers. • Mentor junior engineers and research staff on software architecture, engineering practices, and scalable research infrastructure. • Participate in customer engagements, technical reviews, demonstrations, and collaborative research activities.

• Process and transform production data to prepare it for AI model training. • Oversee and manage model training and development workflows. • Fine-tune existing models to improve performance and accuracy. • Work with Colab, GitHub, and Python to develop, test, and optimize AI models. • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI and deep learning research. • Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to implement AI solutions in production environments.

• Working with large-scale datasets, design and develop novel machine learning algorithms particularly in LLM to provide automation of clinical tasks using one or more of medical images, electronic medical records, waveforms, and clinical reports • Demonstrating algorithms to meet accuracy requirements on general subject population through statistical analyses and error estimation • Building prototypes to enable development of high-performance AI algorithms in scalable, product-ready code • Initiating/proposing unique and promising deep learning capabilities, developing new and innovative algorithms and technologies, pursuing patents and research publications where appropriate • Researching and evaluating emerging technology, industry, and market trends to assist in product development and/or operational support activities
