• Own the integrity and consistency of financial data across accounting, billing, payroll, procurement, and analytics systems — ensuring financial data is accurate, usable, and trusted as the company’s source of truth • Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close — driving a fast, predictable cadence while continuously improving quality and reducing manual effort • Own the design and evolution of our financial systems architecture (GL, subledgers, workflows), partnering closely with Product and Engineering to build scalable, custom solutions • Drive automation across accounting workflows — including close, reconciliations, and reporting — leveraging AI and modern tooling to reduce manual work and improve data reliability • Lead audit readiness and maintain a strong internal controls environment, ensuring the company is consistently audit-ready as it scales • Own technical accounting and policy development, ensuring GAAP compliance and consistency across the organization • Deliver clear, decision-useful financial reporting and insights to leadership, enabling better and faster business decisions • Act as a cross-functional leader, driving financial discipline across Product, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams • Build and lead a high-performing, accountable accounting organization (~10 people), including hiring, developing, and structuring the team for scale • Oversee tax compliance across federal, state, and local jurisdictions in the US and Canada.

Job Requirements

  • Strong foundation (10+ years) in accounting and financial operations (CPA required), with experience in high-growth SaaS, fintech, or similarly complex environments
  • High ownership and impact orientation - you see finance as a core business enabler, not a support function
  • Proven track record of building and scaling accounting functions with an operator mindset - you default to systems, automation, and leverage over manual processes
  • Deep technical accounting expertise (including revenue recognition), with experience leading audit readiness activities and establishing controls in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable financial systems and workflows, ideally in partnership with Product and Engineering teams
  • Hands-on experience using AI and automation tools (e.g., LLMs, workflow automation platforms, AI-forward ERPs) to improve accounting workflows - with a demonstrated ability to experiment, iterate, and drive real efficiency gains
  • Track record of building high-performing, accountable teams with clear ownership and measurable outputs
  • Clear, direct communicator who can translate complex financial concepts into insights for cross-functional partners and leadership
  • Growth mindset and builder mentality — you’re energized by ambiguity, continuously look for better ways of operating, and actively raise the bar as the company scales.
