The Finance Team serves as a strategic and regulatory anchor, overseeing Coinbase finance function with a focus on the Luxembourg market. The team balances rigorous financial control - including liquidity management, safeguarding customer funds, and regulatory reporting - with high-level business intelligence and performance analysis. Acting as a vital partner to the Board and Global Accounting, we provide the technical expertise and financial insights necessary to drive informed decision-making within a fast-paced, regulated fintech environment. What you'll be doing: - Financial and accounting queries and queries from regulatory authorities relating to the finance function of the firm. - Monitoring and overseeing the performance of outsourced services by outsourced service providers relating to the finance function. - Overseeing the finance function in Luxembourg and ensuring finance processes operate effectively and accurately delivering accurate financial insights into the business. - Carrying out financial performance analysis for the regional business and generating performance improvement proposals. - Provide insightful and quality financial advice to support the company's business decision-making. - Conducting regular industry analysis and business intelligence research - Responsibility for all financial reporting and monitoring, financial control and business forecasting. - Assisting to deliver reports to the Board. - Overseeing liquidity management and taking on treasury management planning projects coordinating closely with the treasury team. - Monitoring the safeguarding of customer funds in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and overseeing reconciliation procedures. - Maintaining proper books of account and ensuring they correctly record and explain the transactions of CBLU at any time, enabling the financial position of CBLU to be determined with reasonable accuracy, that the balance sheet and profit and loss account comply with all applicable accounting standards, and enabling the accounts to be readily and properly audited. - Partnering with the Global Accounting team to periodically prepare, update and review accounting policies, accounting estimates and adjust financial statements based on reconciliation results. - Preparing financial statements and other related information for external use (audit, submission to regulators, etc.). What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): To be completed by all business teams except Eng. - 8+ years experience as a finance professional at a payment/e-money institution, bank, fin-tech, financial regulatory agency and/or professional service firm serving financial institution clients. - University degree in Accounting/Finance (or an equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA). - Experience in and understanding of payments, e-money or wallet products/services, banking functions, merchant processing. - Ability to communicate, in a timely manner, with the Head of Finance on financial performance and to provide high quality impartial information to enable decision making in a regulated environment. - Ability to promote the company culture, values and behaviours and to ensure standards of performance are accepted and understood. - Demonstrate thought leadership and market presence relating to best practice and innovation. - Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of business functions, and a track record of performing in a high pace environment. Project management experience is desirable but not essential. - Excellent oral and written communication – fluency in English is a key requirement. - Capacity to meet deadlines while maintaining quality standards and effective time management. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment within a high growth business.
