Job Description

Poultry Procurement Manager

Chomps

• Management of sourcing, contracting and purchasing protein raw materials at Chomps • Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, sales, marketing and innovation teams to ensure material demands are supported • Continuously evaluate the state of material demand and supplier performance • Bring new ideas and solutions to improve the quality, cost and availability of supply for Chomps • Establish and execute standard strategic sourcing efforts in protein categories • Develop expertise in Poultry procurement of multiple species • Manage supplier relationships through utilizing supplier scorecards and formal quarterly business reviews • Coordinate material flows and the introduction of new protein suppliers and USDA EST number locations • Support supplier quality approvals and documentation requests • Lead costing and sourcing feasibility for innovation stage gates • Establish program to assess and manage risk across the protein supply base

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Meat Science, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in buying and procurement in CPG Food industry
  • Prior direct experience in protein, livestock, broiler, or other poultry industries within the meat industry preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems, NetSuite preferred
  • Mastery of procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management
  • Strong understanding of forecasting and inventory management
  • Outstanding analytical skills with demonstrated success organizing, analyzing and accurately interpreting large amounts of data
  • Outstanding communication (both verbal and written) and relationship management skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload to deliver against key metrics and deadlines
  • Ability to travel 20-30% of the time (on average once a month)
