* SIGN-ON BONUS Available * Iteris is seeking a Sr. Engineer to join a talented group of professionals to promote thriving communities by applying technology to solve complex issues in transportation. You will work, in partnership with Iteris Senior Management and Engineering staff, state, regional, and local agencies to deliver various transportation engineering and operations projects to improve our communities. This opportunity is available as a remote position in Pennsylvania and you must reside in the state. What you will be doing: - Lead or support traffic engineering, signal operations/signal timing, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) design, implementation, and integration projects in Pennsylvania and surrounding region - Lead development and implementation strategies for improving arterial traffic flow and safety, prepare the development of system performance measurement tools, standard operating policies/procedures, deficiency reports and mitigation plans, coordinate with local agencies related to the operation and maintenance of traffic signals and arterial systems - Oversee and conduct highly visible customer traffic operations support through the performance of on-site signal timing implementation and fine-tuning, and review of existing traffic operations issues - Collaborate with client management delivering projects to the clients' satisfaction within business objectives - Liaise with local and regional business development efforts - Cultivate strategic thinking to grow business and increase return client rates - Periodically participate in coordination meetings and consult with other staff - Support staff management and provide mentorship and training for engineering and planning staff - Define client needs and develop a plan and proposal for delivery of the project What you need to be successful in this role: - Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) required, field of study: Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, Electrical Engineering, or related field - Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification or International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) certification desired - Minimum five (5) years of experience in transportation engineering or related field - Minimum three (3) years of experience managing project and/or program for public agencies, staff management, and mentoring - Is based in Pennsylvania and has experience working with Pennsylvania DOT or Major public sector clients (as a consultant or public sector employee) - Familiar with tools such as Synchro, Sim Traffic, VISSIM (multi-model traffic flow simulation software package), AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc. - Proficient in MS Office Iteris anticipates paying between $118,000 and $135,000 for this role. • Create and configure intents, entities, and conversational flows in Dialogflow • Develop integrations between the chatbot and external systems (APIs) • Create and maintain webhooks for information processing • Implement business logic and decision rules in the backend • Ensure performance, scalability, and resilience of integrations • Support the evolution of the conversational experience together with the frontend/UX team • Monitor and optimize chatbot performance

• Provide technical solutions for the development of new features and support existing features; • Assist other team members with technical issues, always seeking the best solution for the business; • Develop and evolve backend solutions using microservices and serverless computing, ensuring scalability, high availability and resilience; • Act as a technical reference for the team, conducting code reviews and supporting the resolution of complex problems; • Develop, maintain and evolve REST APIs and asynchronous integrations using messaging systems; • Design and implement backend solutions in Node.js, using MVC frameworks, relational databases and architectural patterns appropriate to the business domain; • Ensure continuous software quality through the implementation of automated tests and software engineering best practices, reducing technical debt and increasing the maintainability of applications.

• Develop and maintain high-volume metrics processing systems; • Work end-to-end across the development lifecycle: architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring; • Build scalable solutions to support the sales force and digital customer journeys; • Evolve systems with a focus on performance, scalability, elasticity, and cloud cost optimization; • Participate in technical decisions and define solution architecture; • Review code to ensure quality, readability, and efficiency.
