Warehouse Technician

• Assist with the receipt, issuance, and shipment of materials and supplies on a daily basis, ensuring all transactions are supported by appropriate documentation and that authorizations are prepared and maintained to accurately record such transactions. • Maintain and conduct physical inventories of materials and supplies. • Assist with the shipping and receiving functions between all operational locations and departments on a daily basis. • Support the Senior Warehouseman and Foreman in maintaining adequate stock levels, keeping records, and issuing supplies as required. • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and light vehicles for handling warehouse materials. • Handle and operate necessary tools and accessories required for warehouse maintenance. • Read, comprehend, interpret, and learn Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), labels on products, warning signs, and instruction manuals to prevent the loss of personnel, property, and processes. • Ensure direct reports are proficient in MSDS usage. • Provide feedback and support to WHS leadership on incident/accident reporting prior to submitting to HSE & SCM. • Attend and complete safety training as required for profession/level as a WHS employee. • Interact with other sections within Supply Chain (Logistics/Purchasing/Major Consumables/Inventory Control/Customs) and Finance (Accounts Payable) to support SCM’s activities. • Regularly report the status of warehouse activities to the Warehouse Foreman or their designate. • Build, maintain, and manage good working relationships with all internal stakeholders. • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Supply Chain Management or designate
- Certificate in Procurement and Supply Management
- 2-3 years of work experience in Supply Chain Management
- Training/Experience in Warehouse/Transportation/Logistics Operations
- Consistent accuracy in administration
- Must possess ethical and professional standards in all dealings
- Must possess work prioritization skills
- Knowledge of Warehouse & Logistics operating procedures
- Basic IT skills in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work either independently or as part of a team
- Ability to deal with distractions
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal in English
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and Environmental policies & procedures
