What We Can Achieve Together: The North America Agriculture Project & Contracts Specialist will manage projects and contracts and coordinate cross- functional operational activities, including operations support, procurement, finance, training, meetings and special events. Core focus areas include: Project & Contracts Management Work towards meeting the strategic priorities of the program by implementing tactics for approved plans and completing day-to-day tasks and activities. They will be responsible for the planning and execution of internal and external facing projects; logistics for special events and/or meetings; purchasing; negotiating with vendors; central filing; contracts due diligence and tracking; updating/maintaining intranet sites and other internal databases; and coordinating a variety of administrative and programmatic functions. Internal Systems May perform Information Systems, Human Resources, and Finance administrative tasks, including processing contracts, invoices, expense reports, and other forms, preparing reports and forecasts, and monitoring and preparing budgets. They will respond to inquiries about program activities, create program materials, and draft correspondence. They will be well versed in the systems and resources utilized by the team to execute assigned tasks. They will maintain, track, and research data; produce and review reports; and perform program analysis. Team Support Provide guidance in satisfying administrative requirements based on extensive knowledge of policies and procedures. They will provide support and targeted training related to the functional area of the team. They will implement processes and practices to improve effectiveness. They will communicate with staff in various programs across the Conservancy, as well as vendors and business relations. They will communicate or distribute information to assist staff in making decisions, solving problems, and improving workflow. Responsibilities & Scope - Work within scope of program’s strategic goals. - Act independently on assigned tasks and exercise independent judgment based on analysis and experience, referring difficult questions and unusual problems to supervisor. - Coordinate projects with several variables, working within a defined timeline and budget. - Demonstrate sensitivity in handling confidential information. - Perform non-routine analysis, research and follow-through. - Ensure compliance with Conservancy policies and procedures, and external (donor/legal/IRS) requirements. - Financial responsibility includes purchasing, processing invoices, contracting with vendors, and assisting with budget preparation. - May act as a resource to others to solve problems and act in supervisor’s stead when instructed. - Coordinate the work of cross-functional, cross-divisional teams towards a desired outcome. - Provide input through project teams for the improvement of existing programs. - Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain. - Work is diversified and may not always fall under established practices and guidelines. - May require occasional domestic travel for multi-day retreats; and working long/flexible hours as needed to coordinate with staff and partners across the US. This is a full-time, 2-year grant-funded position with the possibility of extension based on continued grant funding. Working location is remote from a home office within the continental United States. We’re looking for a mission-driven, project management professional that understands how operations contribute to team and organizational success. The ideal candidate should have a strong project management skillset with experience leading operations functions for a diverse, multi-disciplinary team. They will possess exceptional communication and collaboration skills and experience designing, organizing, and directing complex projects. Salary Information: The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $50,000 - $72,000 for annual base salary (subject to tax withholdings). Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
