Summary We are seeking a senior data scientist to lead our demand modeling and product advancement efforts. As an early RightsHelper hire, you would help oversee and develop key components of our industry-leading RightsHelper platform. The ideal candidate has experience building and maintaining accurate and interpretable models for pricing, forecasting, or marketing applications in a fast-paced, enterprise environment. Our platform provides a unique opportunity for senior data scientists to work closely with leading sports and live event organizations in developing innovative techniques and advancing their decision-making. Job Functions - Develop (and improve upon) robust and extensible production demand modeling, sales forecasting, pricing, and ticket inventory optimization applications that successfully enable demand-based decision-making across sports and live event organizations. - Support junior Data Science team members in efficiently resolving complex issues that extend beyond existing documentation and guidance. - Perform model calibration processes for select partner organizations; this includes externally interacting with partner analytics leaders and successfully delivering on their specific priorities. - Improve internal and external RightsHelper modeling product documentation and internal process guidance. - Maintain and improve upon codebase with version control, collaboration, and general software development best practices. - Provide strategic input on product development, data collection, data architecture, front-end development, and general business strategy. - Help build a collaborative engineering culture focused on ownership and empathy for our customers.
Job Requirements
- Required Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least four years of experience in revenue (yield) management, data science, statistical analytics, machine learning, consulting, or a related field.
- Familiarity and good judgment with a broad range of modeling methodologies and tools, such as exploratory data analysis, regression models, simulation, discrete choice, optimization, Bayesian statistics, and causal inference.
- Demonstrated excellence with statistical programming and development (R required, Python is a plus).
- Experience with using git/version control tools in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent reasoning, problem-solving, deduction, and communications skills.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently identify and solve complex problems in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Preferences
- Experience with cloud computing (e.g. AWS, Docker) is a plus.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases is a plus.
- Knowledge of BI presentation tools and packages (e.g. R Shiny, Tableau, D3), web programming languages (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and general programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Java) is a plus.
- Knowledge of sports, concert, or ticketing industries is a plus.

- The base pay for this position is $120,000-$140,000. A bonus will be provided as part of the compensation package.
