Accountant – Financial Controller
Binance
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in compliance with Japanese accounting standards and internal policies. • Regularly reconcile exchange accounts, bank accounts, crypto wallets, and general ledger to ensure accurate financial reporting. • Manage the accounting and reporting of cryptocurrency transactions, including purchases, sales, trades, and wallets, ensuring proper treatment of crypto assets in line with regulatory guidelines. • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Assist with internal and external audits. • Provide analysis on financial performance and provide insights into cost-saving opportunities and revenue optimization for the exchange operations. • Stay up-to-date with local and global regulatory requirements for cryptocurrencies and ensure the exchange’s compliance with Japanese financial regulations, such as those set by the Financial Services Agency (FSA). • Handle all tax-related matters including preparation and filing of tax returns (corporate tax, consumption tax, and other relevant taxes) according to Japanese tax laws. • Work closely with the global finance team and other departments (legal, operations, compliance) to ensure smooth operations and reporting.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in Finance&Accounting.
- Strong communication skills in English and Japanese verbally and in writing
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
