• Own the accuracy and integrity of our financials, from general ledger to monthly close • Lead day-to-day accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll, banking) with precision and efficiency • Drive tax compliance across corporate and sales tax, partnering with external advisors as needed • Strengthen internal controls and support audits to keep us compliant and confident • Identify and implement process improvements that help finance scale alongside the business • Build and manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes • Deliver clear, actionable reporting for leadership, the Board, and investors • Directly manage and mentor our Staff Accountant, supporting their growth and day-to-day work

Job Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a Controller or senior accounting role
  • Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting (CPA strongly preferred)
  • Strong command of sales tax compliance, nexus rules, and multi-state filings (Avalara a plus)
  • Experience managing corporate tax processes and external advisor relationships
  • Proven ability to lead accounting operations (AP, AR, payroll) with accuracy and efficiency
  • A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to clean, reliable financial data
  • Experience with modern accounting systems and ERP platforms
  • The ability to translate financial data into clear insights for non-finance partners
  • A track record of improving systems, processes, and controls
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A collaborative mindset and comfort working cross-functionally

As a Site Contracts Negotiator II at ICON, you will independently manage the negotiation and execution of clinical trial agreements and budgets for a range of studies. You will work closely with sites and internal stakeholders to support efficient and compliant study start-up.
