Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our remote education team. This role is critical in providing high-quality instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), supporting academic and social-emotional growth, and fostering a safe and engaging virtual learning environment. The Virtual Special Education Teacher collaborates with caregivers, colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure students succeed in a fully online setting. Key Responsibilities: Instruction & Student Support - Plan and deliver individualized virtual instruction based on IEPs. - Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous lessons. - Adapt lessons to meet academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. - Offer one-on-one instruction during office hours as needed. - Maintain accurate academic and behavioral data for each student. Behavior & Classroom Management - Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and classroom behavior guidelines. - Develop and support individualized behavior management plans. - Establish a positive, respectful, and safe online learning environment. - Promote student independence, competence, and confidence in learning. Collaboration & Teamwork - Communicate regularly with caregivers, colleagues, and stakeholders. - Attend IEP, team, and department meetings as required. - Collaborate with other educators to ensure consistency across instruction. - Share professional insights and best practices with the team. Professionalism & Compliance - Comply with special education legal requirements and documentation standards. - Participate in professional development, trainings, and continuing education. - Serve as a role model for professional conduct and virtual classroom leadership.
