What you’ll do: Responsible for all activities related to the deployment, implementation, and administration of databases including control, maintenance, and support of all database environments and related applications. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, investor guidelines, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates. The target pay range for this position is $65,000.00 to $85,000.00. - Monitor SQL Server health, jobs, storage, CPU, memory, and I/O for both SQL in Azure VM and Azure SQL environments to ensure stability. - Execute routine database maintenance tasks including backups, integrity checks, and scheduled jobs to support system reliability. - Troubleshoot basic database, job, and connectivity issues and escalate complex problems to senior team members for resolution. - Support database deployments, code releases, and configuration changes in accordance with established change management processes. - Maintain and update database documentation including runbooks, configurations, and operational procedures. - Respond to production support requests and service desk tickets to ensure timely resolution of database-related issues. - Participate in on call rotation. What you’ll need: - Basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server architecture, database objects, and relational database concepts including tables, indexes, and join. - Basic knowledge of database backup, recovery models, and routine maintenance processes. - Familiarity with SQL Server Agent jobs, scheduling, and monitoring concepts - Basic understanding of database security concepts including logins, roles, and permissions - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to write and troubleshoot basic T-SQL queries for data validation and issue investigation. - Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the department’s credibility, operations, and services. - Ability to multi-task in a production support environment with attention to accuracy and timeliness. - Strong attention to detail in executing tasks and reviewing results for accuracy. - Ability to perform job duties in timely manner and meet service level agreements and timelines. - Ability to work effectively within a team environment and supports shared operational responsibilities. - Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical work experience. - 0–2 years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server or relational databases in a professional or an academic environment. - Microsoft Azure database experience a plus. Responsibilities and Duties OCT currently has an opening for a Database/SharePoint Support Associate to support a client requirement. This position is contingent upon contract award. The Associate serves as the dedicated resource that ensures accuracy, usability, and security in the client's contract data environment.
