They will provide technical support for AMD Sales Teams, customers and partners within their defined region, and will be responsible for all aspects of x86 Embedded technical engagements necessary to support customer account objectives in the region. This role supports a broad range of customers, technology and partners with the primary focus being to develop technical relationships and win new designs and opportunities (Pre-sales), defend/support existing wins (Post-sales) and provide customer feedback to internal engineering/technical teams. The Person: - Possesses a broad technical understanding of AMD’s x86 product portfolio with special emphasis on embedded devices for new platforms (design wins) - Able to share a specialized knowledge of end user hardware and software environments including Operating systems (Windows, Linux), compilers, benchmarks, and targeted applications - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills) with a good balance of hardware, architecture and software expertise - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team - Good time management skills and the ability to prioritize - Strong internal (Sales, Marketing, Engineering) and external (customer) relationship building success - Outstanding problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex problems involving multi-disciplined, cross-functional teams - Ability to travel within the region Key Responsibilities: - To support the sales process by working with account leaders, internal engineering, and business units to enable new customer solutions based on AMD x86 technology. - Leading technical discussions and resolving technical issues for platforms based on AMD embedded products from design to mass production. This may include the following activities: - On-site meetings with customers - HW Platform development and debug assistance - Performance and benchmarking analysis in support of customer opportunities - Debugging and/or optimizing customer designs for AMD processor architecture - Technical guidance or recommendations for platform performance improvement (HW and SW) - Technical training for customers or AMD sales team - Evaluation and research on competitive platforms, applications or technologies - Presentations of AMD roadmaps or technology (Internal and External) - Support for conferences or regional events (Presentation, HW demos, Customer meetings) - Other duties as required to support the sales team and customer base - Travel of 25% is possible Preferred Experience: - Knowledge in one or more of the following areas: System design, x86 processor technology, hardware design, benchmarks, embedded systems and applications, graphics and/or advanced PC technology - Knowledge of Ryzen and EPYC products is a plus - Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas is also preferred: Embedded software ecosystem, system architecture, APU technology, embedded system design, ROCm and other AI flows - Networking, Storage, Test and Measurement, Industrial, Edge/telco, and/or Automotive experience a plus Academic Credentials: Undergraduate or advanced degree in a technical subject area (e.g. Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent combination of training and experience This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
