Role Description ECS is seeking an experienced NIH NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies (NEAT) CI System Administrator III (Operations Management) to work remotely. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award. The NIAID NEAT CI – System Administrator III (Operations Management) supervises and manages the daily activities of configuration and operations of systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based. - Manages the daily configuration and operation of various systems. - Plans and monitors the optimization of system operations and resource utilization. - Performs systems capacity analysis and planning. - Oversees the assistance provided to users for business system access. - Provides timely and effective applications maintenance and repair on all CIB supported software applications. - Provides efficient performance monitoring of all CIB supported applications, issuing timely and accurate notification of application outages to CIB management. - Collects, stores, and analyzes data relevant to monitored applications to perform and report accurate root causal analysis of all related issues and to support trend analysis and forecasting. - Ensures effective change management of all OCICB-supported software applications. Qualifications - Experience supporting clinical technology, including, but not limited to, system administration, configuration management, and lifecycle management. - Experience monitoring systems for unanticipated issues and reporting on systems performance metrics. - Experience applying troubleshooting techniques across various server, application, and network technologies. - Experience with security standards and best practices, including authentication and authorization mechanisms. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security or related field. - Active Public Trust or higher security clearance. - Strong supervisory skills in managing system configuration and operation. - In-depth knowledge of optimizing system operations and resource utilization. - Proficiency in performing systems capacity analysis and planning. - Excellent leadership and communication skills to assist users in accessing business systems. - Extensive experience working with mainframe, mini, and client/server-based systems. - Minimum 6 years’ experience supporting Health IT software development initiatives. - Reside within the Washington DC Metro area. - Travel within the Washington DC Metro Area, and CONUS as needed.
