Technical Development Manager, Pharma

• TDM will be primarily responsible for developing and growing the commercialization for components including excipients and active nutraceutical ingredients (ANIs) into the North American Nutraceutical industry. • Work with Brenntag’s strategic supplier partners to learn their product portfolio, and understand the key technical attributes as it relates to their applications in supplements • Work with Product and Industry Market Managers to identify and strategize entry into the potential target accounts in the geographies assigned. • Meet customers with the commercial sales team weekly and engage with customer including their R&D, Marketing and/or Innovation teams to define customer’s needs for portfolio development, innovation or solutions at the technical level. • Engage with supplier partners and suggest best solutions to the customer. • Engage with Food and Pharma innovation & applications labs to accelerate customer projects. • Follow up with the customers to drive the project and ensure successful commercialization of the products in scope. • Attend product trainings and extend training to the field account managers in their assigned regions as necessary. • Analyze existing portfolio for white spots and work with IMM team to find and develop supplier partners. • Conduct all functions of business with safety as the top priority. • Work with Management on organizational priorities, goals, and objectives. • Participate in all periodic team meetings and communicates activities for action/follow-up/execution as necessary. • Attend internal and external training sessions for continued development of product and industry knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • BS or MS in chemistry or related field
  • Min 10 years’ experience in nutraceutical product development and or technical sales
  • Understanding of commercial activities of customers as well unit operations and unit processes in various end applications including tablets, gummies, capsules, powders and lozenges products
  • Well versed with current market trends and key players in the nutraceutical health industry
  • Aware of the regulatory landscape as it related to nutraceutical products in North America
  • Deep understanding of functional ingredient distribution in the nutraceutical health industry
  • Functional knowledge of word processors, database software, sales tools, spreadsheets, presentation modules
