We’re hiring a Senior Counsel to partner with Ecosystem and Partner Programs teams to build legal frameworks that let partners scale with HubSpot — safely, predictably, and creatively. If you like shaping commercial programs, working with partners, negotiating complex technology deals, and solving the legal challenges that come with disruptive technology and HubSpot’s rapidly evolving ecosystem, this role is for you. In this role, you’ll get to: - Partner closely with HubSpot’s ecosystem leadership and other cross-functional teams to provide first-line support to our Go-to-Market (GTM) business teams, focusing on Partner Programs, Partner Sales, Partner Marketing & Enablement. This includes leading a range of partner program initiatives, maintaining and iterating on the program legal framework, negotiating technology transactions, advising on deal structure, and working closely with our programs strategy, sales, marketing and product leaders to meet partnership, programs and company goals. - Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of complex commercial and technology agreements with sophisticated enterprise partners, including strategic partnership agreements, intellectual property licenses and data privacy agreements. - Provide practical legal guidance around building and evolving a variety of partner programs and associated legal frameworks - Assist in developing overall strategy for the GTM legal practice area - Work with a strong team of legal professionals to help guide our rapidly growing ecosystem, channel and GTM teams - Work closely with partner programs leadership to develop guidance and resources for more consistent and scalable legal support - Collaborate with other business and legal teams including Product, Privacy, Security, Compliance, Vendor Management, Commercial Transactions, Risk, Finance, Marketing and others to align guidance and evaluate risks and opportunities We are looking for people who: - Are qualified to practice law in Ireland and/or the United Kingdom - Have 4-6 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with in-house technology company - Experience working with partner, sales and marketing teams and ability to provide practical legal guidance around building and evolving different partner programs and associated legal frameworks - Have experience with review and negotiation of technology contracts and feel comfortable running an independent negotiation process - Familiarity with with SaaS distribution, reseller and partner programs, including issues such as price structures, order management and general roles and responsibilities within the channel - Have a working knowledge of global privacy and data protection laws and frameworks, with the ability to identify potential issues, provide practical, business-oriented guidance on matters involving privacy considerations and know when to escalate issues to the Privacy practice group as needed - Foundational understanding of intellectual property protection and management, especially as it relates to channel and partners, is a plus - Are able to handle a broad range of strategic matters and work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, and transparent environment - Are able to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team - Develop strong relationships based on trust with team members - Effectively handle high-volume and prioritization of tasks and projects - Ability to grow in an ambiguous, quickly changing environment and desire to learn quickly - Are a clear and practical communicator with non-legal stakeholders - Have superior organizational skills and can project manage - Have fluency in English - Are passionate about the values in the HubSpot Culture Code We know the confidence gap and impostor syndrome can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates, so please don’t hesitate to apply — we’d love to hear from you.
