Business Intelligence Specialist – Microsoft Fabric
Lojas Renner S.A.
• Develop, maintain and evolve semantic models and reports on the Microsoft Fabric / Power BI platform • Ensure the technical quality of deliverables: dimensional modeling, optimized DAX measures, RLS/OLS and development best practices • Define and disseminate technical development standards within the BI CoE (Center of Excellence) • Support integration between data engineering layers and the analytical layer, ensuring data is accessible, reliable and performant • Operate and evolve the BI team’s CI/CD pipeline, ensuring quality and traceability of deliveries • Structure and support a self-service model for business areas: training, governance and enabling report creators • Contribute to the management and monitoring of the platform’s analytical capabilities, proposing performance and cost optimizations • Work on data governance initiatives: lineage, sensitivity classification and access policies • Produce technical documentation and conduct workshops and training for internal teams • Collaborate with multiple technology and business areas, acting as a technical reference and solutions facilitator
Job Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in DAX: complex measures, time intelligence and performance optimization
- Experience with dimensional modeling (star schema, snowflake) and semantic model design
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Fabric or Power BI Premium: capabilities, workloads and connection modes
- SQL for validation, query development and application of business rules
- Knowledge of the Databricks platform, medallion architecture and development of engineering pipelines (Gold layer)
- Experience with version control using Git: branches, pull requests and code review
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines applied to BI development (Azure DevOps, GitHub)
- Experience with RLS (Row-Level Security) and OLS (Object-Level Security)
- Strong technical communication skills and ability to interact with engineering teams and business stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric: Lakehouses, Direct Lake, Mirror Shortcuts and Deployment Pipelines
- Experience with Tabular Editor and model quality analysis tools (Best Practice Analyzer)
- Familiarity with Data Catalogs
- Experience with the .pbip format and collaborative report development
- Microsoft certifications: PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) and/or DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer)
- Experience in the retail segment or in high-volume, highly seasonal environments
- Familiarity with data ingestion pipelines (Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Pipelines or equivalents)
- Knowledge of Python or PowerShell for automation via data APIs
- Understanding of LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law) as applied to analytical environments
- Experience in modernization or migration projects for BI platforms (legacy migrations)
- Familiarity with agile methodologies applied to data projects
- Knowledge of cloud data architecture (Lakehouse, Medallion, Data Mesh)

Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, science, business administration, or related field required. - 2+ years of experience in business intelligence, operations support, finance, consulting, or equivalent work. - 1+ years preferred experience with business intelligence and analytics tools (SQL, Snowflake, Looker, Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, etc.). - Understanding of Data Analysis in relation to Business Process modeling. - Excellent communicator with superior written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Stakeholder management experience. Comfortable presenting to individual contributors within your function and management. - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks, manage time and organize effectively, work under tight timelines, and communicate effectively.
