Vice President, International Youth Federation
International Youth Federation (IYF)
• Preside over meetings in the absence of the President/SG and watch over the IYF Commissions and assist committee’s heads • Leading, guiding, directing, and evaluating the work of IYF officials including Executive branches staff and Regional Directors • Support the implementation of the IYF Global Strategy that guides the direction of the IYF’s programmes, projects and initiatives • Advising the President/Secretary-General on substantive matters and in the organisation’s strategic planning and the development of management tools and instruments to enhance the performance of IYF in its overall mission • Overseeing the implementation and operationalization of the work of the Honorary Board, Board of Advisers and IYF Goodwill Ambassadors Programme • Representing the organisation where required and assisting in the establishment and development of key partnerships • Identifies opportunities for new alliances and develops strategies for achieving the IYF objectives raising revenue • Expand revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing programmes and the growth of the IYF • Cultivate existing relationships and develop new funder relationships • Represents the IYF at international conferences, events and meetings • Develop partner networks and strategic partnerships, using method driven approaches and processes to drive results through partnerships • Coordinate the management of ongoing relationships with existing partners and where relevant, leverage those relationships to greater collective impact • Focuses on strengthening existing collaborations and ensure that partnerships are profitable and beneficial to all parties • Conceptualize new strategic initiatives that could be built around or benefit from corporate, foundation, government, bilateral organizations or other partnerships • Assisting the President/Secretary-General in developing and facilitating consultations with Governments
Job Requirements
- Ability to interact cordially and communicate with a diverse community
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to assess and evaluate situations quickly, accurately, and effectively
- Experience and results preferred at national or international level in youth empowerment role, management, coordination, development, communications, international relations, youth studies, sport, women empowerment, youth-led organizations, or another relevant field
- Fluency in English with superior drafting skills
